This is what I overheard last week while in the MK. I was by myself and I noticed I was directing lots of people, I guess I was just more in tune to what others were saying. As I was walking by Tiki Room I heard family of four say they thought they were the rest rooms! I of course had to chime in that it was one of the original Disney attractions and they must do it. They thanked me on the way out and I shared some of Iago's feathers with them. Seems I was the only person picking them up, even when I pointed them out to the other kids they just looked at me. My DD loves to get Iago feathers.

I'm sorry to say I've never been to the Tiki Room.

Do they sing "In the Tiki-Tiki-Tiki-Tiki Room that is on the Disney's greatest hits volume 3?

It is on my list for this trip. What are Iago's feathers?

LOL! Glad they didnt have to go. ;)

After a few visits to the Tiki Room I have found that Im usually the only one who stands up when told to. People look at me like Im crazy until they catch on. :teeth:

The TIKI Room is one of my favs!!! I love the addicting music and the bright colors and the story line. My husband grew up with a mother that DRAGGGGGGED him to see the TIKI room at Disneyland, and he always moans and groans over it with a smile on his face when now I DRAG him to see it!!

Just think, ISNT IT EXCITING!! I am rasing for children that will grow up remember being dragged to the TIKI room, but they also will remember how much fun I had doing it, just like my DH does! Nothing like making family memories!! As twisted as they might be:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

In 2000, my dd(4) loved the Tiki--one of her favorites. It's on the top of her list for the next trip---i'm almost under 20 days..!!

during our DD 11 years of life. However it wasn't until a surprise visit over MLK weekend this Jan. taht we were able to visit the Tikki Room. We were back in July and stoped again. I think that it has become a favorite stop for us now. I guess we are not alone. :jumping1:

The Tiki Room has always been one of my favorites. I really miss the "old" show though. Particularly the songs.

I've got to admit, the Tiki Room is pretty cute. It's a lot of fun (but perhaps just a little too frightening for young kids with all of it's loud noices and such). I actually perfer this to the original version, which got old after a while IMO.

MaryKatesMom- At one point of the show, Iago (the bird from Aladdin) disappears in a puff of smoke. When he does, a few feathers fall down from where he was pearched. If you're nearby where this happens, you may be able to catch a feather as it falls or pick it up off the ground.

I love the Tiki Room too, especially the new version! Last trip, I went in with my kids and I was the only one who stood. My kids were so embarrassed, but I told them that was what you were supposed to do!

One of our fav's too. But be forewarned that you'll be singing/humming for the next few days/weeks/years. At least my four yr old joins in too.

I think the Tiki Room is a really cute attraction. I also like the re-do since I think it has brought more energy to the show. I do miss some of the older songs though.

I used to work at the Tiki Room! (plus carpets and treehouse). I just transfered last week. Somedays I had to watch that show 4 or 5 times in a row. lol. It was funny to see whether or not the audience would stand up when Iago said to. Some days they did, often not. I'd usually go up front and motion them to stand with my hands if I noticed they were just sitting there.

I've never heard someone mistake it for a restroom, but people were *always* thinking it was a resturant! During Night of Joy last month, this one teen came in through the exit as the show was ending, looked up at all the birds chirpping, and said "Is this a bar?" lol. I was often asked if it was a ride too.

I've never seen the original version so I don't know how this compares. Disneyland still has the old one. Last week, while playing at Epcot, I overheard a lady complaining about how awful the current version was...I felt a bit defensive! I happen to like it.

I enjoy the Tiki Room, just don't get to see it too often. But when I do, I have a fun time.

I prefer the original. It always makes me thankful that I am at an attraction that I saw on tv years ago.:D

My Mom loved the Tiki Room when I was a kid and dragged my family repeatedly. Now I drag my kids, but with the new "revamped" version, they like it. I do miss the "Let's all sing like the birdies sing" song and think they should have left it in. For the record, my Mom also likes the new show!

I love the Tiki room!!! My 6 year old and me are die-hard fans of it. I never saw the original show, and have no idea how it was.
My husband says he is a little apprehensive about going in there. He always feels like there is going to be some bird droppings falling!
