Hello everyone, and welcome to my very first pre-trip report!!

I’m relatively “new” to the Dis, having only found the site back in January when I decided to book our next WDW vacation. My original plan, as of April 2006, was to book a trip for 2008. However, the withdrawals became too much for me and I decided to go ahead and book another trip for 2007 instead. Most of the important planning had already been done, since we were discussing our future trip on our last trip. We already knew where we wanted to stay and what we wanted to do. So, the hardest part was picking the time of year to go. We had previously only been during my boys’ Spring Break. But, this year, I wanted a longer vacation, and to experience a different time of year. So, I decided on the end of May. Booking everything was a breeze, and the next thing you know, we were all set to go. By now, you may be wondering, “We who?”. So, please allow me to introduce the ubiquitous “cast”.

Me – the mom, single-mother of two boys that I adore  , vacation planner and financier, lover of nice beaches, sunshine, sleep, & WDW :cloud9:
DS15- older of two sons, loves mom, football, tennis shoes, and French fries (not necessarily in that order.)
DS10- baby boy (please don’t tell him I called him that :rolleyes1 ), loves mom, teddy bears, chocolate, cartoons :happytv: , and sticks. (not necessarily in that order.)

Here’s a picture I took of my goofy boys last year with the big dog.

My boys and I absolutely love Walt Disney World. Our first trip was back in 2004. We only stayed for four days/three nights, and missed Epcot. That was enough for us to know that we had to come back and experience more of what the “World” had to offer. Our last trip topped the first one, and solidified our obsession. We stayed for 7 days, went to the four main parks and did everything on our list, plus some. This time, we will be extending the last stay by three days, but we’re adding a trip to Sea World. This will be our second time visiting Sea World. It was a lot of fun the first time, and I promised the boys that we would go again this year. The last time we went, it was a little chilly, so I wouldn’t let them sit in the “soak zone” during the Shamu show, and they were a little disappointed. But, surely, it’ll be warm enough this year, so I guess I’ll let them get wet, if they insist.

Our plan for this year is set. We’ll drive down to WDW early Sunday morning, 5/27/07 and check in at POP Century resort for ten days, nine nights of fun. Then, we’ll hop over to a park for a while, and return to the resort later to go to our room and change/rest until it’s time for our 6:20 ADR at CRT. You may be wondering why on earth I would take two young men to Cinderella’s for dinner, but the answer is quite simple. Just because they have no interest in the princess, doesn’t mean that I should have to miss out on dining in the castle ;) . So, in spite of the groans and “aww man” whines, we are going to have dinner in the castle. They should be happy I didn’t schedule a breakfast, and make them take pictures with all of the lovely princesses. Silly boys.

Unbelievably enough, once I finally had all my ADRs done, I only made one change. I switched our Coral Reef dinner for a Coral Reef lunch. I have eaten few TS dinners at WDW (Rainforest Café and Chef Mickey’s), and quite honestly, we’re done with Rainforest Cafe. I took the boys there last year (the one at DTD) for my older son’s birthday dinner (he chose) and the food was blah, and the service left much to be desired. So, we shan’t be going back there this trip. No siree. Maybe next time, we’ll try the one at the Animal Kingdom. Anyway, our ADRs are all set as follows:

Day one – dinner CRT
Day three – breakfast Chef Mickey’s
Day four – Fantasmic Dinner package/Mama Melrose’s
Day Five – Le Cellier
Day Seven – Donald’s Breakfastasaurus
Day Eight – Coral Reef lunch
Day nine – Liberty Tree Tavern lunch

You might be noticing that I skipped a few days here. We aren’t really the “have-to-have-at-least-one-TS-meal-a-day” kind of folks. Like I said, we’ve only had two TS dinners at WDW. We’re cool with CS and whatever we bring from home, for the most part. But, this trip, we’ll try some new things.

So, the plan is pretty much in a holding pattern for a few days. I have to purchase our little fridge, since it’ll cost me less than renting one from POP. I thought about getting in on one of the swaps, but I decided that it would be a better investment to just buy one that we can use on future trips (to WDW and elsewhere). I also have to get my vehicle maintenance done, and begin packing. I want everything done the Friday evening/Saturday morning before we leave. I have all of my lists ready to go and anything that can be packed ahead of time, will be thrown into a piece of luggage. I plan to do nothing that Saturday before we leave, except sleep, get my mani/pedi, and relax. The bags are to be in the vehicle and we’ll drive off into the night/early morning on our way to see Mickey.

The Friday before we leave is all planned out, as well. That is the day that the new POTC movie comes out. The boys are so excited about that, let me tell you. So, we will go and see that as a great way to kick-start our vacation. I can’t wait to see my man Johnny again. I tell my boys that he’s my boyfriend all the time, and sometimes I think they think I’m serious. They tend to tell me that he’s married and that he’s a movie star. Umm, as if a movie star wouldn’t be interested in dear old mom!!!! Ah well…

Well, our plans are really taking shape now. I have everything all confirmed and planned, as much as I'll allow myself to plan. The little fridge will be purchased tomorrow and the vehicle tune up is scheduled for 5/18. I'll have to do some light grocery shopping and a few loads of laundry, of couse, but that's what we always do. We hit Wal-Mart the day before we hit the road. :)

Once we're there, our daily schedule looks like this:

5/27 AM - arrive at resort, check in and head to AK or MK
5/27 mid-afternoon - head over to hotel to unpack/rest/swim/change for dinner
5/27 PM - arrive at MK for dinner at CRT, parade, Wishes
5/28 AM - MGM
5/28 PM - AK
5/29 AM - MK
5/29 PM - EPCOT
5/30 AM - AK
5/30 PM - MGM
5/31 AM - MK
5/31 PM - EPCOT
6/1 - Seaworld all day
6/2 AM - AK
6/2 PM - free
6/3 AM - sleep in
6/3 PM - MK
6/4 AM - DTD and head home. :sad2:

This is "the plan", but on the days that our dining schedules are fairly flexible, we can "tweak" the plan as we see fit. I plan to relax some on this trip, like we did the last time. I am so looking forward to not having to drive for nine days. That's one of my most favorite parts about our WDW vacations.

Everyone is really looking forward to the end of school, and beginning of summer/vacation. We are long over-due for a vacation. Both boys will be going to different schools next year (high school and middle school) so, they have been pretty stressed with work and tests. And, my job is very stressful, so we are ready to think of nothing related to the real world for a few days. :woohoo:

Well, as of today, we have ten more days left until we are back in our favorite place!!

We've had a few set backs along the way, though. My younger, more accident prone child, ended up falling on the playground at school, and ended up having to get three staples in his head. :scared1: A couple of weeks before, he'd chipped his front tooth, which we recently got fixed. I teased him that I was going to send him to school with a helmet on from now on. :lmao:

At this point, I am getting nervous about the trip. I am afraid I'm going to end up running around like a mad woman trying to get everything done the day before we leave, and I really don't want to do that. No matter how hard I plan to get things done ahead of time, something always happens to derail my plans. For instance, my plan was to take my boys to the movies on 5/25 to see the new PoTC movie. But, I have to do something for work at 5PM that day, and who knows how long it is going to take. (one of the many reasons I so dislike my job). So now, I have to take them the following Saturday. I'd planned to do nothing but get my mani/pedi, finish all packing, load up the vehicle, and rest that day, but looks like I'll have to revise my plans. :sad2:

Anyway, I can't say how much I'm looking forward to this trip. I absolutely love WDW, and I adore hanging out with my boys. So, who could ask for anything more than that? :confused3

I'll probably post once or twice more before we leave. And, when we get back from the trip, I'll have to post a report, just so that we will have a lasting record of our fun times!!
