I know, right?

(ARGH... I hate that one, lol)

I have 2 that seem to be common in the deep South (Alabama, Louisiana). I grew up in VA and just returned having been on the Gulf Coast for 11 years and these 2 still drive me a little nuts:

1. I'm "fixin'" to go to the ________; and

2. How old is your DD? She just "made" ______.

Although my brother's wife's fam is from CA and they get a kick out of the east coast's use of "ya'll" :)

I hate it so much too. When did it become so popular? I noticed the 2 female characters in the movie My Sister's Keeper saying it a few times and it really irked me. I suspect it's only going to get more common-place too.

How did 'I don't mind' get popular? I like it though but it never really made sense to me.

Oh and where I live we have a habit of saying "we'll do that after". For example if the kids ask if we're going to the park you might say "yes, we'll go there after". That's the whole sentence. My friend (who's not from around here) just stared at me one day when I said it and she said "after what?, seriously Deb after WHAT?, I mean that is so annoying". :lmao: I agree with her but it's a habit I grew up with.
