Well, there will be tales, I am sure when it comes to the group of us going to WDW together.
Pre-planning. My friend Chris and I are avid planners - we own every guidebook, read every web site and message board, and own pretty much every brochure known to man that has to do with Disney. I still have the map of Disneyland on my wall that my mom gave me that is around 40 years old (or more, who knows). With that being said, we have discovered how hard it is going to be to plan this trip out, so we are going to try the "Take it each day at a time" approach. We have made dinner reservations where we HAVE to eat, wrote down early entry days and evening magic hours and will go from there.
Now, as I love to make people laugh, I immediately devised a cute thing to do once we are all piled into the van we are driving down.
Oh Yes. Did I not mention that? WE ARE DRIVING DOWN FROM TN - all 7 of us. Might have to strap someone to the top.
It won't be too bad, though, as we are leaving Thursday night, staying over night in Georgia, and arriving Friday morning, as we are unable to check in until late afternoon anyway. Ok, I need to get my train of thought back. So, I decided it would be fun to pick a few crazy songs to add to my iPod for the trip down. So, the first song that will be playing as we first set foot on I-75 is "Holiday Road". Oh yes - it felt perfect. The other songs are a surprise.
Now, we are arriving in WDW on Friday afternoon, and decided that it would be a lazy day, and we would just head to DTD and Pleasure Island. Seems simple.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be park days. Sunday night we will be dining at Rose & Crown - cause they have Strongbow on tap. You can't buy Strongbow in TN, so we will drink our weight in it I am sure. The fish and chips are good there as well
. Tuesday is a beach day and Wednesday will be our Universal day (we all have passes to burn, so might as well). Thursday and part of Friday will be WDW park days.
Now, we haven't made any other dinner reservations other than R&C and 50's - we really are trying to be casual and not plan every single detail, especially since there is a group of us. If we wake up one morning and decide such and such sounds good, we will call and see if anything is available. I am used to more strict plans, so this will be driving me crazy by day 1
We have 1 first timer going with us, she is 24. I feel for her, because the first time I ever stepped foot in Disney, I was 20. I don't want to overload her, but want to make sure she gets the most out of everything. Now, while I feel like an encyclopedia of Disney info, I don't know it all, or I will forget. What would be one or two things you can suggest that we make sure she see's or does? She is not afraid of heights or coasters, or of the dark. We will really only have 5 days in the parks, so, while we can be a little lax (we will only be at AK for 1/2 day min) we have a lot of ground to cover in just a week. I know that Disney isn't going anywhere, but it may be 3 years before she can get back, so we want it to be memorable. We are getting her some ears as soon as we arrive

So any thoughts or suggestions? Definitely want this to me memorable for all. There will be 2 guys and 5 girls, if that matters at all.
