The tale of 2 Happy Anniversary Pins "thank you" An Oct '11 TR NEW 2/25 final thought

I went to get us some FP’s for the Safari, we next went to the Maharajah Jungle Trek and really enjoyed walking around in here, I think this was our first time and it really wasn’t that crowded. We snapped a bunch of pictures of the beautiful scenery and animals too.

I thought these animal locators were really nice looking!

In here we chatted w/ a wonderful CM who was retired down in FL and has for many years been a Disney fan and been to both DL and here many times before starting to work here. We had a fun time talking about both parks and the joy of working at WDW…I want that some day

We moved on to see the Majestic Tigers…

We kept wandering through and I began to take pictures of the photographer at work trying to capture pictures of the various birds and animals
100_1768.jpg

100_1765.jpg

When some girls passing by commented on how low the birds fly and what if one pooped on you and I starting laughing out loud as DISer Kathy’s story of her Poor Aunt Rae and the “dirty bird” pooped in my head…I of course had to share to explain myself.

After taking more pictures:

We made our way out and went over to the Safari as it was now time for our return. Matt got our cart:
100_1771.jpg

The area was more crowded now, but still not that bad. We lucked out w/ the front row and had the most amazing Safari ever…the driver was great (he must have trained over on the Jungle Cruise first) and the Animals were out in forces today.

I don’t know if it was the weather (as it seemed a bit of chill was rising in the air and clouds rolling in) or something in the food…but they were active…

A few highlights came when you know that ‘ol rickety bridge you have to cross that never seems to be repaired correctly well he called on the “Happy Anniversary Couple” and good thoughts to guide us over…take a listen:

Then the second best part was when we stopped to take a look at the elephants and out of now where the whole heard comes charging up and through the area..badum badum badum…it was something to see, I caught a bit on video:

That got our attention for sure, even the driver went off script as he called it in to the “real” park rangers…up next was the lions…now you know they are mostly always sleeping and sure enough this was no exception until we got stuck in the road due to animal passing in front of another tour and from behind the majestic king of the jungle just stands up…people are getting up to turn around to see it… too bad we don’t have a picture…

After the Safari, we decided to get a drink and a snack we still had our popcorn voucher from day 1) when we bought the Mickey popcorn bucket. We decided as well to catch the 1:45 show of the Tam Tam Congo. I grabbed us a great sit right in front by the large planters. The show begin and we were enjoying ourselves…it filled up fast after that and we kind of got squished in by some not so nice guests…

100_1774.jpg

100_1773.jpg

100_1777.jpg

But then as one of men in the group began grabbing guests to join the show he grabbed Matt and I…this was most fun, too bad we have no pictures or videos of it. After the show we were able to get this picture:

100_1778.jpg

That was so much fun and definitely not something normal for us, it was a bit out of Matt’s comfort zone but he said he enjoyed it. When we went over to our seat we noticed our popcorn got knocked over…I was quite bummed, I love popcorn…grr

At some point we stopped in the gift shops to look around and Matt played along w/ his wife’s corny humor:

100_1772.jpg

We decided to beeline it over to the 2:30 showing of the festival of the Lion King and made out great, w/ not that bad of a crowd and not that long of a wait either. I have all but two pictures of the show as I wasn’t planning on taking too many but mostly because I dropped my camera and I couldn’t get the lens to close…

So here are my lone two shots:

100_1779.jpg

100_1780.jpg

We of course loved the show and had a good time watching it.

I wanted to take Matt thru the tree of Life trail but couldn’t find the entrance, where do they hide it? :confused3 And then it starting get late and we really needed to find a spot for the parade, unfortunately we couldn’t find a good one not in the sun…as we debated on what to do, we just popped a squat on the pavement while Matt attempted fixing my camera. In the end we decided not to wait as Matt was getting uncomfortable plus those clouds still loomed overhead and of course I didn’t bring the ponchos this day…

I tempted the thought of him waiting somewhere for me while I made a mad dash to ride EE in the single rider line but I just wasn’t to sure he was actually ok w/ it so we passed on it and made our final way out of the park and went back to BLT for a short break before heading to EP for the night…

So up NEXT our final night at WDW…more food, wine and a little Sugar Ray too!

Breakfast at the Wave looks to be right up Greg and I's "alley". While we don't avoid character meals, we don't love them. We enjoyed dinner there, too!

I couldn't find the trail, either! :headache:

Loving the updates! We had dinner at HBD on our November trip and really liked it. Clay said that was the best meal of the whole trip. I'm thinking that one will stay on the list of "must-do".

I am sooooo glad ya'll were able to get into the party! Did anyone other than me get a kick out of the "Let The Memories Begin" in the background of your first PP pics?! Lots of great pictures and interaction that night!

Lots more great pictures in the AK...especially of the tiger! Looking forward to hearing about Epcot!

I couldn't find the TOL trail on our last visit either! Instead we ended up in It's Tough to be a Bug! :rotfl:

Your breakfast looks, and sounds really wonderful! In general I am not a big buffet fan and every time I look at the evening Wave menu I just can't get excited but I may need to go there for breakfast, YUM!

Fun AK day, you guys just seem to have a blast together. It's lovely to see.

What a big update, and what a fabulous day.

Sleeping in and then a nice quiet breakfast with yummy food.

And a very fun AK adventure, love that you go pulled from the audience for the one performance and that the driver mentions you on safari. How cool.

Can't wait to see whats next.

Was that a neck injury or a back injury that Matt had? :rotfl:

 I know bad me

Now that you have all used the restroom, refilled your popcorn and drinks…let’s get back to Oct 2011 and our last night at Disney…more fun @ EP w/ Food and Wine…plus a little Sugar Ray too! :goodvibes

Wednesday Oct 19th evening

We heading back over to EP via the TTC and the lime green monorail
100_1784.jpg

(OK this is really at CR…but its fits my story)

100_1785-1.jpg

We arrived at EP about 5:40 pm and went straight to the food booths and stopped in Hawaii first for the Kalua Pork Slider

100_1787.jpg

This hit the spot. I loved the fruit w/ it.

Up next was Greece and the Party was happening here “Opah!”

I got the Chicken Souvlaki (think gyro) and Matt got the Greek Salad and wine Skouras St. George

100_1788.jpg

The crowds were pretty thick already, but the lines not too bad…we enjoyed eating and doing a little people watching too, and then moved onto our next booth at Canada. I couldn’t wait to try that famous cheese soup. This booth was packed and they were a bit backed up on orders already. So I don’t have pictures of everything. At this point I regretted not bringing a water bottle from the room and bought one for $2.39 or something like that. :headache: The cheese soup I ate (almost all…whoops) while waiting on the sausage and salmon.

100_1790.jpg

We must have gotten the salmon first and sausage last, since that’s all I have a picture of. Our reviews for the soup, was that it was YUM tasty, different than what I thought it would be, very light. The salmon was a bit dry for me, and the sausage Matt really enjoyed, but too spicy for me.

As we rounded the corner, we checked the times for the Off Kilter show and decided to stand back and watch…the drunkards were out in force already at before 7 pm…it was a bit sad and crazy…how can anyone afford to get that toasted here? :confused3

100_1791.jpg

We enjoyed the show and I think I texted Tracy (Mickey_Mom) from Canada hat we were rocking w/ them. They were pretty good; we enjoyed the Celtic stuff more.

Next stop was Ireland for some dessert. This was also a very crowded booth w/ many guests waiting on their food orders. Since we only ordered the lava cake, the CM waved us around to the front and as I was trying to squeeze through a rude guest thought I was cutting…geesh

I don’t have a picture of this gooey delight, it was gobbled down to quick, mostly by Matt, he LOVES chocolate cake. It was served warm too, so that was even better.

The next booth stop was in France for me to get my Grey Goose Slushie and Matt got a $6.95 shot of Grand Mariner…the drinking began ;) But sadly I was disappointed this time around w/ the Goose, it didn’t taste very Boozy LOL for that price you should at least be able to taste it…

We next stopped in Morocco

100_1792.jpg

Where Matt ordered the baklava and a drink, but unfortunately I don’t have it written down, maybe the Sangria?

100_1793.jpg

I don’t really care for Baklava so he ate most of it.

We next stopped at the Hops and Barely Booth for some more drinks and dessert…

100_1794.jpg

100_1797.jpg

I ordered the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and Matt got the souvie pilsner of the Sam Adams Boston Lager (which I shared a few sips), plus we got the Pumpkin Mousse. I tried hard to keep this tasty treat to myself, but no luck.

While we drank our beers we grabbed some seats to catch the last showing of the Sugar Ray Eat to the Beat concert.:rockband:

100_1803.jpg

100_1798.jpg

100_1802.jpg

IMG_3667.jpg

The concert was AWESOME! :cool1: We loved it, it was so fun…he was a great performer and the crowd was totally into it, we had the most fun (the several kicked back drinks probably helped too)

At the end I had to pee something fierce (sorry) and I think I barely made it above the mad dash to the American pav restrooms…why are they so far away?

We now rounded our way back around toward Mexico and stopped in just a few more booths along the way. We went to the Brewers Collection and got Beer Flight 1 which included Radeberger Pilsner, Schofferhofer Weizen and Braufactum Roog…I can’t remember which was which at this point…but 1 was a dark ale, one was a bit paler and one was similar to a light ale. Matt took the darkest ale, which was too bitter for him and I took the lightest ale which I enjoyed. We semi shared the 3rd one, but I mostly drank it…yes I’m the beer gal and Matt is the classy wine man LOL :rotfl2:

IMG_3675.jpg

100_1811.jpg

We stopped along the way to take some pictures of the World Showcase all lit up and a PP picture too:

100_1807.jpg

IMG_3679.jpg

IMG_3681.jpg

Photo0932FourBySix.jpg

We made it around to our last booth in just the nick of time right before 9 pm as the booths were closing up for the night and we got our only repeats of the trip from Australia the Shrimp and Lamington Cake!

100_1815.jpg

As we found a curb to sit on and eat, we decided it would be too difficult at this point to find a good spot to watch Illuminations and I think I was getting a beer buzz ;) so we headed into Mouse Gear to do some last minute shopping…was this a good idea?

IMG_3683.jpg

No I didn’t buy that, but we did find some good things to take home. We had a fun conversation w/ a CM at the checkout too…I do recommend shopping in here during the fireworks it was EMPTY in here…great for shopping!

It was now EMH time, so we headed out to get on some rides. We did Soarin again and Living w/ the Land:

100_1840.jpg

100_1843.jpg

100_1846.jpg

Next we did the Clamobiles:

100_1849.jpg

This really is one of the coolest queues!

100_1851.jpg

Where are you Nemo?

100_1853.jpg

Getting fishy:
100_1857.jpg

100_1854.jpg

We ended the night w/ a ride on SSE:
100_1858.jpg

100_1861.jpg

This is my favorite scene, it cracks me up…
100_1862.jpg

100_1864.jpg

Hey look we are the Jetsons…
100_1866.jpg

I’m not sure what time we got back to the room, but ended up being pretty luckily w/ the bus back to CR (since the monorails were done for the night) and I said good night to my castle and was greeted w/ a special surprise:

100_1867.jpg

All dressed up for Christmas..that wasn’t the only surprise of the night, we had received a hello from some Disers on our door sign:

100_1869.jpg
