The Tale and Trials of some Crazy Northern Loons!

in other words...............THE TRIP HAS BEEN REVEALED!!!!!!! 
First I must apologize for the delay! Last night was a VERY LATE night for all of us! This morning was very rushed and to top it all off we had an unexpected snowstorm! We are now in Nipigon at my InLaws for the NEW YEARS FEAST, despite the terrible weather conditions!
ANYWAYS, on with the details! I finished the treasure hunt while the girls were getting dressed this morning! Talk about last minute, eh? I told them that in a couple of weeks we were going somewhere very special but they had to figure out where! I explained the "rules of the game" and they were off! I will spare you the details of my brutal attept at poetry and just give you the answers to their clues! In order.....

I hid their last clue in the O encyclopedia so they could look up ORLANDO! Once they realized it was in Florida, DD7 said "are we going to Walt Disney World?" I said that yes we were and then I sent them to the spot where their countdown calendars were hiding and they got all excited to see all the Mickey heads!
I gave them their books and then told them to sit and have a look at where they were going! 
I wasn't sure what to expect as far as their reactions cause they've never been there and I have been very careful to not give them any hint of this trip until now!
I told them that I would try not to bombard them with too much info but they were free to ask me any questions that they had! So the first thing they asked was how are we gonna get there? I told them that first we would drive to Minneapolis and then fly in a plane to Orlando then take a special magic bus to our hotel! DD5 said right away...Mommy, I don't want to fly on a plane! They go too fast!
She has flown before and hasn't expressed this concern to us at all before now! 
I'll be sure to let you know how she does! DD7 asked where will we sleep? I told a little about each of the resorts we would be staying at and then gave them my 2 celebrations magazines so they could see pics of the WL! Their response to the pics was so funny! In their own words..."can we get up really early one morning and watch the sunrise on the beach?" 
I told them absolutely! We could do that every morning if they wanted!
So that is it for now. I will try to post more later but alas with 6 people and only 3 computers I have to wait my turn!
For now I will wish you all a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR! BE WELL MY FRIENDS!

What a wonderful surprise! I'm so excited for your girls since they've never been to WDW. Our DD has only been once (and just to MK) and talks constantly about wanting to go back. I bet it feels wonderful to talk to them about your trip!

Hey Kim!! I have been meaning to come over here, but time, compounded with computer issues have delayed me!!!! I love your ptr and what great ideas for your kids!! I have 22 days left, and we'll tell the kids at 20 or 21~~ Don't know yet how I will do it this time! I just had to smile at Nipigon!! Remember that was the first place my kids studied for geography this year?!

CHAPTER 6? - I LOOOOVE TO PACK!!!!!!!
Yes, It's true! I love to pack! Once when I was about 5 or so, my mother caught me on the kitchen floor packing a brown paper grocery bag with books and apples - I was going into the hospital to have my tonsils out!
For this trip, I have had to force myself to wait until the girls knew about everything! IT HAS BEEN VERY DIFFICULT! Okay, I admit, I cheated a bit! I actually packed some of my summer clothes in a suitcase one day!
I kust had an itch so bad, I couldn't wait any longer! I am so pathetic sometimes!
So here is what I have packed so far and what remains to be packed! The girls' suitcases are in the process, my clothes are currently in the dryer and will be packed tonite! DH's stuff is up to him to pack! The man actually thinks he will be able to go 10 days with only 3 shirts, 2 pair of shorts and a pair of jeans!
I said to him "honey, I will do laundry a grand total of ONCE! You will need a few more clothes" Silly man!
In my miscellaneous bin, I have... coffee filters, coffee scoop, dryer sheets in a baggie, advil, tylenol, tide to go stick, GUM, a teeny tiny lysol bathroom spray I found at the grocery store this am,GUM, lip balm, assorted travel sized toiletries, ponchos for the kids, glow sticks, m&m tubes for coins, a mini first aid kit, GUM, fruit snacks, granola bars, a bounce lint roller, clorox wipes, a teensy tiny roll of Bounty paper towel I bought in the states last summer and about a bazillion other little tiny things that may or may not be useful on this trip!
My wonderful husband has his own small list of what he needs to pack and be responsible for. His list looks like this:
pack ENOUGH CLOTHES for at least 5 days!
camera, battery, cords, memory cards and other assorted camera stuff
power cord for camera and stuff
decide whether taking PDA or not (he keeps going back and forth)
And that is it for him! Seems a little unbalanced doesn't it?
Since we are actually leaving the DAY BEFORE our flights to MCO, we have extra stuff to pack. The following is a list of all the assorted packing I must do in the next 13 days...
kids car fun bag
2 overnight bags for hotel in Minneapolis (1 for kids, 1 for adults)
4 carry on bags (one for each of us)
3 suitcases - one large, two medium
Did I mention that I like packing? Tis a good thing, cause I have a lot to do over the next couple of weeks!

Please come to my house and help me pack!!! There is still so much I have to purchase...let alone think about actually packing!! I'm freaking out here Kim!!! HELP!!!
Sounds like you are having a lot of fun packing and I can't wait to see you...can you believe 2 weeks from today we'll be meeting in the evening...I promise not to scare the small kiddos LOL!!!!!

I don't mind packing either. I just don't like to unpack! Well, I don't mind unpacking once we're in the hotel (I can't live out of a suitcase!). I just cannot stand unpacking once we're home. It makes me sad!

NO MORE CHAPTERS AFTER THIS ONE CAUSE WE"RE LEAVING TOMORROW!!!!!
Come on and dance with me! You know you want to! I got the only 2 more days till disney fever! OH YEAH!
So I am officially calling today.......
THE DAY BEFORE THE DAY BEFORE DISNEY WORLD!
So our status as of right now is .....My DH is currently outside snowblowing our driveway
the 's are at my mom and dad's and I am supposed to be finishing up my packing! 
The kids are totally packed, DH is 99% packed and I am at about 95%! I have only a few more things to throw into our suitcase and then I will be completely packed!
I still have to clean the fridge of all perishable food, clear out the garbage from the car, put DD7's booster seat back in (had to be cleaned after she puked on it last week!), clean the bathroom, TRIPLE CHECK EVERYTHING, be at my parent's place for supper at 4pm, go to church tonite as we will miss it tomorrow, come home, have a bath, load the car, TRY TO SLEEP and then get up at 630 to prepare for our 730am departure to Minneapolis!
Tomorrow will hence be known as ......... DAY 0!
So, I just want to thank all of you who took the time to stop by and visit with me on my little PRE ADVENTURE! Thanks for taking the time out of your busy to come say hello to a CRAZY NORTHERN LOON!
