RickinNYC tell us all about the wedding plans..

Well, we're only just now in the beginning stages but so far, we have two options.

We've discussed having a wedding reception here in Manhattan, with about 75-100 guests. The only drawback is that the ceremony would just be a token and not legal in anyway. Kind of a problem for me.

Another option is to go to Toronto. Get everyone who wants to attend to hop on Amtrack and go up. Take over a train car, and have fun. Get married in Toronto and host a reception somewhere up there. Huge benefits is that it'd be legally recognized by Canada, and the NY state attorney general has stated it'd have to be recognized by New York as well. Second big benefit is the exchange rate. Save several thousand dollars.

Not sure what else to do right now. Joe wants to go on a NON-Disney cruise for a honeymoon. He's crazy. I wanna divorce.

RickinNYC, that sounds like so much fun. I love Toronto. DH and I took the train there once to see Phantom of the Opera. Okay, so I guess that was a few years ago. It was nice not having the hassle of driving, but I will warn you that the train stops pretty frequently, but if you have a whole group of people, who cares how long it takes.

Speaking of Canada, DH and I are due to do one of our Niagara Falls escapes. ::yes::

Okay, I'm babbling again.

Barb, I take the train up to Schenectady to see my folks so I know all about the stops. By myself, it'd be irritating. But as you said, if we're with anywhere from 20-30 (or more!) good friends and we're all on our way up for a wedding, I think it'd be a blast!

ibouncetoo, Port Orleans French Quarter is great! The theming is fun and beautiful. We have been there for a few years, but it's one of our absolutely favorites. Great food court, the pool is a sight to behold, and walkways are so peaceful, the rooms a good size, and my personal favorite, a boat ride to Downtown Disney. For a moderate, the Port Orleans resorts give you a big bang for your buck!

Sooooo glad to hear it, especially from you. :) I am in the planning stages of a surprise WDW trip in early April for me and DS9. Naturally, deluxe resorts too expensive so I got ressies at POFQ and from all I've read, it's a great place. I thought about an AS resort but friends say I'd be crazy with all the groups there during spring break.

....now if only I could find a decent plane fare that doesn't get in after midnight!

....oh yeah, so excited about your wedding, will you wear white?;)

Oh Rick why don't you come to Massachusetts? We'd love to have you guys.

I love PO and FQ is great too.

Bichon I saw you o'er there on the DB. ;)

Did you read the one "opening a can of worms" relating to charging people more if they spill over into another airline seat? Pretty funny.

RickinNYC there is a cruise that goes from montreal to NY with stops in Halifax, NS , I think it stops ion St Johns newfoundland, and Maine..supposed to be very nice... that could be a fun honeymoon cruise..or Alaska cruise would be GREAT..

I started reading that one but haven't been following it. Ah yes! So many arguments to choose from but so little time. Tra-la-la :p

You know, even with all the arguing over there, there really is no one I "hate", and I try not to get bent out of shape when someone jumps down my throat. There are a few that I have go like this -- -- when I see their names. But hey, opinions are like (well, you know what they are like ;) ), and everyone has one. :teeth: And I have to remember that not everyone is as enlightened as I am. :sunny: ;)

OMG! OMG! :Pinkbounc I've always wanted to go to NS! No one is allowed to go until I can go.

We've thought of that too. But our wedding is not until next year. There's a higher likelihood that Canada will still be performing civil unions than Massachusetts.

Oh sugar, there's nothing I like more than a wedding. But I bet if we had a contest on who's mother in law wore the ugliest dress I'd win! Oh my God rest the woman but it was awful. Let's just say it involved fuscia and silver.

hahahahaha I would never have imagined anyone would put those two colors together on one outfit let alone one dress!!

The worst part was she spent an absolute fortune on the dress. More than mine. I of course looked fabulous. TG you can have a bust line sewn in! Have a great day guys see you tomorrow.

Page 2?

Where is everyone? I just found out that DH is home now and isn't coming back to work today. So I'm stuck here.

Name that Disney movie:

So, what do you want to do?

I don't know. What do you want to do?

I don't know. What do you want to do?

Now don't start that again!

RickinNYC, Congrats, That sounds like a FUN Trip!!!!! Who knows, by that time the semantics may be cleared up and you can do it in NYC!!!

Although Having the DCL Captain marry you at sea...I wonder what the Disney take on that would be...hmmm...I think I'll check it out and post in RickinNYC's Cruise thread.....heheh...

And don't think just because you may be going to Canada you can get away from a Tagliarchy meet.....

:bounce:

Hey, Kismetdreams what are your wedding dates again?

:Pinkbounc

The cruise starts at $3,416! :rotfl:

Actually, thanks for the link. It looks soooo cool! Something else to bug Joe about.

And Ohanafamily, no worries! If anything else, it'd be SO cool to have a DIS table! Just depends on who is willing to treck to Toronto!

Good evening everyone, its good to see that the food has stopped flying and the place has been tidied up.
Welcome back RRBB I' glad you had a good trip.
So what is everyone up to today? Has everyone had (or I guess for you guys is still having!!) a good day at work. I'm just waiting for DH to get home so I can have my dinner and have just finished a powerpoint presentation for my kids at school on Wednesday. I found out from my boss today that I have to mentor one of the other teachers who is struggling slightly so tonight I need to figure out how I am going to do that. It might be quite hard for me as he is a good friend and a nice guy but just finds coping with some of the kids and the workload a challenge. Oh well, it will be a good experience for me.
I guess my plans for the rest of the evening is a bit more work, then some TV time.
Have a good evening everyone.
