We ate pizza, drank beer & watched the movie "Clockers". Wanna know how he won my heart? While watching the movie, I was getting up off the couch to go get another beer & he said "don't get up". He then reached around to his "dorm-size" fridge sitting next to the couch & handed me a beer. I knew I'd found my Prince Charming. :teeth:

WOW!! Thanks for all the info! Have copied this over so I can refer to it and take notes as I research. Guess I need to decide if I'm going to try to scan in all my negatives since that makes such a difference.... Right now I'd just like to be able to copy an old family photo or make an enlargement without paying $6.99/page for the Kodak PictureMaker machine at Walgreen's!!

And yes, I can tell you miss your dear RRBB. If you were my DH, however, I don't think I'd want you cheering yourself up by buying an HDTV. If you were and you did, you'd be hoping I'd "miss" you, if you know what I mean! :duck:

Can't believe I've been offline ALL day and there were only 3 pages to go through!! Must be nice weather everywhere and busy weekends!

Me, I spent much of the day shopping. I'm helping a dear friend decorate his house. You see, he and his wife are both military, and she had to move a year ahead of him to Italy. She's coming home for a visit, thinking they're going to spend the whole time working on the house to finish the decorating and get it ready for sale late summer. Well, as a surprise, he's finishing it before she comes home and instead of work, has lots of fun, lavish things for them to do, rather than spend the time painting, mulching, etc! A great present! Plus, we're doing much of it with a Tuscany influence since she's moved to Italy and loves it there :) Now if only I could turn this "help" into a paying position, I'd be all set!!

Had some YUMMY ice cream for dessert tonight! Friendly's triple chocolate sundae...it's 3 kinds in one box...chocolate with peanut butter cups, vanilla with fudge sauce, and peanut butter with chocolate chips! Should've gotten the VAT of that rather than the puny ol' half gallon!!

Hmmmm. Hey, maybe there's a connection between chocolate and beer. Nah, I was probably just a lush back then.

Anywho, I did meet my future DH over some beers but it took two weeks to fall in love with him. (It took another week for him to find a minister who would marry us because I told him flat out, " I will not be a June bride." I just wanted a nice simple ceremony in a church with some close friends and his brother and my sister present. (I think I subconsciously planned it so we could renew our vows at WDW later on.)

Oooohh, kadaten that sounds sooo good! After church

I think I'll have lunch at Friendly's. (Of course, I'll have to buy a half gallon of ice cream - I mean, I'll be there already, why waste a trip just for lunch, huh?):teeth:

Mad4Mickey, How about some Chocolate Covered Strawberries..

llebrekniT, No Alcohol was involved in our first date, but we did have some FaryTale Cuvee when I proposed (we aren't big drinkers)

kadaten, Epsons have that "AutoFix" Button, and in general they seem to do a good job. I usually like HP, but they don't have the Acid Free. I have used Epson printers before, and like the way that they print...

Sorry, No New Television. She knows when the HDTV TiVos come out we will upgrade our TV shortly after. I was going to buy a DVD Recorder deck, an sale for $399 at Best Buy, but the SA talked me into buying a video capture card instead. I also picked up (for $105) a DVD +/-RW drive for her computer. (my how the price has come down....BTW, the price on the LCD monitors has already come down quite a bit...I have a friend who will sell me one at or close to cost...I try to buy something from him every year, I host his website w/o charge...) It isn't the new TV that will cost, it is all of the other associated things I will need...New Dish, New Receiver, new cables...) I lost track of my ()'s!!!

Well, RRBB won some other stuff I think. She was trying to explain that no Dorm one more than 1 area. It is all a little beyond me, she will explain when she gets back. I told her that we were close to page 50, she was NOT amused.

Oh well, gotta brush my teeth and go to sleep...Good Night All,
Especially the TAG FAIRY!!!!!

:bounce:

ohanafamily It won't be long now. :)

I agree CourtasanSatine. I'm going to get some late night munchies, put out my clothes for tomorrow and then clean up for bed.

Night All

Glad to know they're acid-free. On the scrapbook page for epson you sent, only the $600 mentioned anything about it, but I thought they had an affordable one that was, too.

I'm currently using a Canon that I like for the print quality, but it's a few years old and I don't think it's acid-free, so I haven't printed anything for my albums with it...just for framing photos around the house as I can always change those out if/when they fade or whatever. I *did* make some gift albums for the grandparents with photos printed on the Canon, but if you won't tell, they won't know it's not archivally safe!! Knowing me, I'll end up redoing them when/if I get the right equipment anyway, so the only person I hurt is myself....oh well!!

Thanks again for all the info. Lately I've become a personal shopper for a friend, so it sure is nice to have my own personal researcher!! Better get all the info I need before RRBB gets back! Know you'll be devoting your time to her then :) As it should be!!

Good night, TAGLIKINS!!

Oh, forgot to answer the ?? about my SO.

DH and I met through a mutual friend....he went to school growing up with the girl who became my freshman and sophomore year college roommate. He came to see her at the end of our junior year and we were both staying at her apartment for the weekend. We stayed up all night talking.... we both were unhappy in our current relationships and had LOTS to talk about. Just connected. And it's funny, since I usually don't open up to people right away like that. Must've been meant to be! Started dating 2 months later, engaged 6 months after that, married 6 months after that!! Will celebrate 9 happy years in August!!

So I'm another that didn't meet over a beer! (Good thing...I much prefer froo-froo drinks like a frangelico milk shake, a "nuts and berries", or if all else fails, a glass of white zin or sangria.

Goodmorning everyone,
I have just been reading over the posts so will answer questions first. I met my DH in my first week of university and started dating a few weeks later (when I was 18). We got engaged half way through my final year of my degree (2 1/2 years later) and then got married 18 months after that. We set the date as soon as we got engaged as we wanted to wait until I had finished my post graduate teaching course before we got married. Plus the place I wanted the reception in had to be booked about 18 months in advance anyway. We will have been married 6 years in August.
So does anyone have any fun things planned for today? I am at home alone today as DH has had to go to work (in a school on a Sunday!!) as he is a music teacher and they are putting on their school show next week so he has had to go set up the stage and put up the lighting (which we borrowed from the local theatre which we help to run.) So I am doing my school planning and trying to get ahead of myself and do 2 weeks worth so I will not have to do any planning next weekend. Plus I need to phone the California Grill at DLP to make a PS for our trip in 5 weeks time:teeth: I can't believe I will have been to 2 Disney places in 9 months!!:D
I guess I better get on with my work.
Have a good day everyone.:wave2:

G'morning!

Of course of first date involved beer. Sheesh! ;)

We met 2/85
Engaged (my 24th birthday) 4/22/89
Married 4/28/90
First Bichon Frise (Heinie) 5/90
First child (Eric) 11/93
Second child (Hunter) 1/96
Second Bichon Frise (Otto) 3/00
Third Bichon Frise (Beanie) 4/03

BTW, don't get married around your birthday. You may end up getting only one present instead of two every year. Darned those "combined" gifts. ;)

Goodmorning TAGLIKINS.

Dropping off breakfast, eggs (cooked to order) sausage/bacon/ham, crispy home style potatoes, your choice of toast/muffin/pancake/waffle. Guest celebrity chef, Colin Firth. (I can't believe I fell asleep during Sat Night Live last night!) Oh, and chocolat covered strawberries. I'm having one of the frangelico milkshakes kadaten mentioned last night. Frangelico is my all time favorite! Straight, warmed in a brandy snifter, over ice, over ice cream. Warms your innards and starts a fire in your heart ;)

I'll be back later, may have some major vacation plan changes occurring today!

Actually, I think there are only 2 or three thst are with the special inks, sorry I was unclear...Usually stores like Fry's and CompUsa have an Epson rep that hangs out on weekends. They also have a customer service line: (800) 873-7766 Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.- 6 p.m. Pacific Time . But they are not able to ship to P.O./APO/FPO Boxes or non-USA addresses including U.S. territories or provinces.

However, they should be able to give you the Acid Free models. I have never called them, and since it is Sunday I cannot find out how big of a hassle it is...

Good Morning all!

Thanks for sharing your meeting/engagement stories. I'm at work & it is rather slow today...Yippee!!!

ohanafamily, I know you are having a hard time since RRBB has not returned yet, but you are really close to time out. Have you cleaned up the house yet? She needs to come home to a clean house. Have you done the laundry? OK, let's get real, have you put your clothes in the hamper?

disneyluvers, have you renewed your vows at WDW, or is this something you plan to do in the future?

Oh, and Colin, 2 Sunny Side up with a piece of Crispy Bacon as a mouth, and a Strawberry as a nose. Also, I'll have a couple of Chocolate Chip Muffins (in case there's a Food Fight!!!)
;)
