i quit using my disney visa, not worth it for me.
using my discover card and i have the promo that goes on until nov 4 for 5% back on charges used in resturants......
and for the fun stuff i buy, my universal cc.........only $20K more and i get a free 3 night stay package.

OOOH, I'll have to check into the Universal CC - luv the idea of a free trip. Just signed up for a rewards program tied into my bank debit card (quite shocked to see how much I racked up in 2 months ). Assume I could do the same w/Universal's...rather have a vacation than a toaster anyday.

So, let's get down to business...how many days are you going & where are you staying?

10 nights/11 days at all stars.......have to go on the cheap to afford universal on site hotel.......
then transfer to hard rock hotel for 4 days......

with the universal master card, you get discounts....

15% off, or is it 10%, off all food in the parks and at the hotels.
discounts off vacation packages, tickets etc.......

i buy a lot of fudge when i go there........i hear the word discount and i spend that and more......

anywho.....universal parks also honor the orlandomagic card (receive it free) AAA cards, ap universal ones, universal mc, all mc for tickets discounts if on the special.
for every dollar spent, you get one point, for every dollar spent on tickets for universal, hotel rooms, food, etc anything at the parks you receive more points. on some specials you can get 5 pts but basically points are doubled.

the disney visa card doesn't work that way.
have to spend a lot more money for each point

Sounds like a great trip to me...always nice to get away for more than a week, just seems to be more restful.

I'm partial to the AS Music myself (doesn't seem to get the bulk of the youth groups - they all want Sports or Music). Do you have your PS/ADR's booked?

We loved the HRH (hated The Kitchen, got there late & the child's buffet had more food on the floor than on the buffet, yeech!) so nice to have FOTL & to be so close to the parks.

Now, to reiterate for the dense ones among us (me), the Univeral card awards points for purchases as you described @ Universal but also 1 point for all other purchases (off-site).

I'm becoming a big fan of the cc reward plans; as long as I'll pay them off each month. I've got a 3rd set of braces to buy soon...might as well get points for them.

I don't want to go to Orlando for 2 weeks and have a great vacation (note to self: repeat after me, I don't want to go to Orlando, I don't want to go to Orlando)
