Hi gang,

The Tta is closed for refurb. Does anyone know if they are updating or doing anything different to the Tta or is it simply because of space mountain that the tta is closed. Any ideas? Its one of our favorite rides.

It is for refurbishment. It's opening months before Space Mountain does, so it really doesn't have that much to do with it. They can cover the windows where you see in easily.

It's one of our favorites also.

I haven't heard if they are doing anything new with it. I'd love to see them add something!

I think the shut down has to do with Space Mountain, since that is down, I guess they decided to take the time to refurb the TTA.

I love this ride. When we get tired we go on for 30 minutes or so and take a nap. The CM's just leave us alone.

Everything I've heard/read says that TTA is only being closed because of it's proximity to SA (and that the track actually goes through it) and that nothing is being upgraded/changed with TTA.

I am so sorry to hijack this thread for a min - just out of curiosity - what exactly IS TTA? Is it just something that my family (5 of us) can go on and relax? Is it out of the hot sun (ie air conditioned)? is there usually a long wait to get on it?
I'm intrigued :yay:

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority is one of the most relaxing rides in WDW. It is one of those rides that you ride when your feet need a rest. It is outside (occassionally you will go into some of the different rides/attractions in Tomorrowland), but it is covered and there is a cool breeze as you whisk around Tomorrowland. Sometimes there is a line for it, but don't get scarred of it because it is a continuous line because the ride never stops when you board (just slows down a bit). The TTA is temporarily not working due to a refurb for Space Mountain, but I believe when you are going, it should be up and running again....definately do, it is sooooooo worth it :goodvibes

We love the TTA. I could give a hoot about SM but I'm gonna be missing my TTA next week. I too heard that it was down due to the SM rehab and not for it's own rehab. I'm sure they'll take the downtime to spruce it up a bit though.

We rediscovered TTA when we were in the World in January...rode it multiple times. We hadn't been on it since it was the WEDway People Mover way back in the beginning. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy!

Paging Mr. Morrow...Mr. Tom Morrow...Your party from Saturn has arrived...Please give them a ring! :woohoo:

This is one of our favorite rides - we love the announcements!

So sad it won't be operating when we go in three weeks. :sad2:

It's a nice break to sit with the kids, let them unwind, gives you a nice view from up above Tomorrowland too. It's unfortunately closed due to the Space Mountain refurb though it's supposed to be open around 8/24.

Thanks everyone! I will be going in Sept so hopefully it is back up and running by then. This looks like a great place to relax with the kids and maybe the baby can take a slight nap

How long does the ride last?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll open it a week or two early so I can catch a ride when I'm there. This is a ride that defines the magic kingdom for me as much as The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribbean, and Small World.

i could never figure out what that ride was about...so this thread has proven to be very useful...i think I have always been so scared by that line ...but its good to hear that it keeps moving...I will try it in July

our last day is aug. 23rd - i am crossing my fingers that it opens a few days earlier then the projected date!!!

My husband and I both adore the TTA! We love going on it at night, just to sit close, talk, and wind down. It's one of those great rides where you just sit there and say "Ahhhhhh". It's like a little bit of peace through the chaos of the park. To us, it's one of those hidden treasures :)

It's just a tour through Tomorrowland. It was always a good way for rollercoaster chickens to get a glimpse of space mountain, because it goes right through. The reason it is in tomorrowland is that it was a unique form of transportation because the cars are propelled through the whole track with electromagnetism. I'm always amused when I'm on those the TTA and I'm going faster than those godawful racescars with their gas engines.

I assume that it will drop you off right where it picked you up - right? I'm concerned about leaving the stroller =)

I hope when we go in Oct we can have a little peek into SM to check on the refurb!

I remember my Mum screaming on it when I was 7 as she thought my Dad had tricked her into getting on SM!
