MY DS told me that when he removed the Nextel 730i cell phone from his pocket, it was dripping and the display screen was filled with water. They removed the battery quickly, blew dry it and let it air dry all night. When I picked up the phone today, I let it sit in the warm, dry sun. The battery was almost fully discharged by the time I reloaded the battery. I charged it up and everything works, including the Total and Direct Connect features. I think we dodged a bullet. I am wondering if, by the time he fell in the pool , the battery was pretty low. That may have saved the circuitry. Just wanted to let you know that it SURVIVED!!

That is unbelievable! If you have a service plan, you might want to have it checked out anyway.

The other day DD spilled a drink on the remote for the tv. It was working fine then suddenly started doing crazy things to the tv. The remote had been broken before (dropped on tile floor) so it was easy to disassemble and wipe off the circuit board. It still works, but now the case no longer closes...have to be careful not to drop or toss it around or the cover will come apart.

My water damage deductable is $100 and the service repair plan doesn't cover water damage so I am going to "knock on wood" and consider ourselves very lucky. :)
