Haven't been on this thread much cuz a few months ago DH's work schedule changed - getting less time off so I wasn't sure we'd still make it

However, thx to a recent Final Jeopardy! question where Hershey, PA was the answer, and I said to him right after he got it, "we should go there this summer!" This Dis meet had totally fallen off his radar

It's a 5+ hr drive so we'll prolly leave after breakfast on Sunday. How big is the park? If we get a 1 day pass for Saturday, will that be enough if we do the preview the evening before?

IMHO, a 1 day pass is enough. It's a big park, but you should be able to get everything in.

Still need to figure out how to use the Giant discount coupon when I have no stores in my area. Could end up being a same day park ticket purchase for me.

Hi Karen! I really haven't done much lately on this meet since there really isn't anything to do yet .... I'm sure the closer we get, we will be trying to figure out more precise dates, exact meet locations, meals, ect..

I know we did the park in 1 day several years ago, so it definatley is possible to do everything in one day, and honestly since it is going to be a weekend in August it's going to be very busy with long lines so I'm not sure you'll be able to do/see everything.........however, in my opinion, the rides/attactions/shows will be secondary to the fun with friends!

I really hope you and Robert can make it!

I picked up a bunch of discount coupons that were at Wawa the other day. I can send them out to anyone who wants them. The ticket is for $8.00 off admission. One coupon can be used for up to 4 tickets for 1 full day admission only, ages 9-54. Also, they can be used at the gate or online. Let me know if anyone needs them and I'll mail them out.

Have to leave on Sunday but was considering driving Thu after work...I usually plan for our trips to start after a shortened workday and only found out last year DH really prefers to start the next day

Looks like we'll leave Fri morning...just wanted to get it straight for when I tell him the itin

Great to know it's not a huge place - we don't need to go on everything but a few good coasters to keep the boy happy ITA, Andrea - I'm going for the Dis meet

We don't have a Wawa around here, I believe the closest one to me is in NJ. I think Burger King or Dunkin Donuts, I forget which one also has coupons out for Hershey Park. I will keep on the lookout for them around here, and if I can't find any, I just might ask for the Wawa ones.....thanks!

There is a map of the park on their website if you want to get an idea of the size of the park - it's definatley not small. From what I remember, it's not like Disney as it is a lot of hills to walk up and down. When I had the stroller it was a PITA, but now everyone is old enough to walk on their own two feet!

I think we will be heading to Hershey on Friday as well. I believe that Friday is the talent show at my girls camp, and they practice all summer for it, so they would have a fit if they didn't participate in it. The talent show ends at noon, so I think we will just leave from there. It should take us about 3 hours, but, who knows.. Leaving on a Friday, in August, and having to go through the city to get to NJ, then PA, might be a bit of traffic.
