Yep! And as far as I can tell, looking at the TV guide service I use (titantv dot com) it isn't on AT ALL the week after that!!! Stupid basketball! However will I make it through the week.....

I meant to come back to that question, I just didn't get around it to yet. I do read a couple of internet speculation sites. People there basically do the same thing we do here, look at the previews and use what they know from the actual episode to guess what will happen next. Personally, I think that's a lot of fun.

I haven't seen any "spoilers" this year like there have been in the past. Some seasons have had the entire boot order spoiled online before the season even began. This year you'll probably only find stuff like, "one of the survivors gets medevac'ed prior to the merge." They are pretty vague and you can't be sure which are valid or not.

So Tuesday or Wednesday I start to read the spec and talk it over with Pink to find out what she is thinking. Thursday I put my picks in. I try to pick someone a little bit risky each week. Penner was my wild card last week.

Usually the next day, Friday, I check the CBS website and read the preview write-up they put up for the upcoming episode. I then read the preview from TV guide to compare. I actually copy/paste both into Word (yeah... anal...) so I can study them all week and figure out the "clues". Whether the clues really help in gaining points is irrelevant to me. I thoroughly enjoy trying to figure out "puzzles"... and I enjoy speculating about people's motives, thoughts, and strategies in the game.

For instance, this week...

1) Who is the Fav that takes a Fan under his wing? (I found the answer to this VERY important to the dynamics of the team alliances, but of course, I'm only guessing based on what I've observed...but if I'm right, it certainly tells me who will be booted off next time that team goes to TC )

2) Who is the water-phobic person that gets tricked and swears vengeance?

3) Who does the tricking?

4) Who tries to contact family members in an unusual way? And what do they learn about themselves in the process?



Like I said, some of the answers won't pertain necessarily to big points... but it greatly helps in understanding the make-up of each team and the alliances that form and break... which then helps you to know who NOT to have on your team.

I also study each and every preview video. Not just watch it, but STUDY it, using the pause button... watching them frame by frrame. You would not believe the amount of information you can glean from still shots of those videos. I also study any press release pictures I can find, especially if they involve the upcoming challenges.

For instance, I believe there is only one preview out so far (haven't had time to look today), but.... who do those two "holding hands" belong to? An already formed alliance or a new alliance? If they belong to members of different tribes, then you'd know that pic was taken on Exile Island and once again, you know who not to have on your team I have a pretty good guess on one hand... still working on the other

Aengus says I'm a "sick woman". Perhaps he's right But I just find it very fun to analyze and strategize about each player and the dynamics of each team and the discussing my theories with Petez to get his take on things before making my picks. We usually have two slightly different theories going... so he takes one and I take the other.

It definitely makes the show more enjoyable for me to see if I was right in my assumptions or totally off the beaten path

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. Plus, there's plenty of time for Survivor talk tomorrow and Wednesday. Therefore:

Kansas has a good shot at it too.

I have Kansas to win it all this year on my brackets, beating Duke in a close game.

As a side note, I really, really don't like the Tar Heels. (No offense to their fans).
