Kendall hated that he had to spend a week of his Christmas break with his father. He hated that his mom was nonchalant about it, even to the point that she told him repeatedly that it was ‘only a week’. He hated that Katie was so calm about this. He hated that he had to empty all of his hockey gear out of his blue duffle bag so that he’d have a place to carry his clothes to his dad’s house. He hated that he’d have to wake up every morning to his step-mom’s horrible cooking and her fake cheeriness when he knew full well that she’d probably give anything to have him and Katie mysteriously.
The only the thing about the trip that he didn’t absolutely hate was the fact that his dad still lived in town and he’d be able to spend as much free time as possible with his two best friends, Logan and Carlos.
There was a honk outside and Kendall was sure that it was his dad. He buried his head in his pillow and hoped that just maybe his mom would forget that he was up here and he could delay going to his dad’s place by a day or two.
All my intros suck, but this one is shaping up to be extra crappy.
