Here's what I know...

I have DLH booked in mid August...when I called recently, the CM I spoke with indicated that the DLH is COMPLETELY booked for the time that we are there (August 13-17). I can't speak to other dates, but she said that since the hotel is totally sold out for the time that I am there, I cannot take advantage of the discount, as there are no rooms to offer the discount for. I thought it was strange as she confirmed that the room that I have reserved completely falls in the discounted deal, but she said since the hotel is completely booked for the time that I am there, I cannot be given the discount. 20-25% off would really be awesome, but I guess I'm out of luck right now? She said to keep checking back, which I plan on doing.

Thats strange i thought they just gave you the discount as long as it applied to your room which you say it does. I would definitely keep calling everyday. I was trying to book the 3 bedroom suite in December and i kept being told it was all booked. I called everyday twice a day for a few days until someone gave me some pixie dust & said she could see i had been calling trying to book and she was going to try and help. I was on hold over 1 hr and she ended up being able to get the room for me. i do not know how or what she did since everyone kept saying everything was all booked.

If you want the discount and a room is available at that price, you have to cancel the original room and re-book. But they do not apply the discount to the room you have already booked. Been thru this so many times, makes me sick. Just keep trying hoping someone cops out of their reservation.

Availability seems to be very limited for certain weeks. I tried to book GCH for the last week of September and almost nothing was available (and definitely not the standard view I was hoping for!) I ended up booking a totally different offer than what I had planned because the end date was later—stay 3 nights and the 4th is free, which I’ve never seen before. But only premium views were available so ended up spending more than I was planning (story of my life!) I think there is a big conference that week because a lot of hotels I checked had little or no rooms.

Hi again! I took your advice and called back, and lo and behold...I got the discount at the DLH! I'm assuming there must have been a cancellation right before I called?? The CM I talked to said I called "at just the right time". I'm now paying $500 less than the package I originally booked, and they were able to add MaxPass (which I didn't have before, as I booked last September before MP was available!) I'm SO thankful for your post @OneTrackMind!! Thank you, thank you!!! This is EXACTLY why I love the folks on the Disboards so much!!

One other thing...literally EVERY CM I've talked to has indicated that the week of August 13 there is a big convention of some sort, which makes getting rooms at the DLH almost impossible. I don't know what impact that might have on other good neighbor hotels too??

I can confirm it is valid for Fridays and Saturdays. Our four nights are Wednesday through Saturday and we got one night free.

I called for the AP discount for my stay at the GCH 8/12 to 8/17 on Thursday, looks like the rates came out the day before and sold out I did however get the summer rate earlier today for a park view room, standard was sold out as well. Did not need to cancel and make new reservation, they just adjusted the rate.

I don’t get the AP discount thing. I looked for AP rates this morning and not a single day showed them. I thought Disney didn’t have an AP deals going right now. Putting rates out that are gone in one day? What a joke.

I don't know that I believe that about the AP rates. I've been checking online for the past few weeks, just to make sure I don't miss them. I haven't seen them available yet for August this year. I would keep checking, I know I will be. Keep watching these boards, because if AP rates become available, someone will post it. I'm crossing my fingers!

I looked today to see if Orbitz was showing the public discount, but no, the price is the same as I paid. Oh well. At least I got some discount booking the room, whether it was with this one or the initial one I had with Orbitz.

We have rooms booked in July at PPH. I called today thinking the summer discount included our July dates but it didn’t. She said they do have an AP rate available only there are no rooms available. They can’t apply it to my reservation because rooms are sold out. I think she said the AP rates came out yesterday. Nice of them to offer an AP discount in theory but one that they “can’t “ actually give to me. It’s a joke.
