The stinky rides--When should I pinch my nose??

Hey everyone! So my best friend and I are leaving for a trip to Disney world next week (I haven't been there since my graduating trip in 2010, she's never been) and we need some pointers. We're both pregnant, and as a result we're both really sensitive to smells right now. In my research, I've been made aware of two rides that use bad smells in certain parts: Stitch and Figment. Could any of you more experienced park-goers give us a basic outline of what happens in the moments surrounding these parts so we have time to pinch our noses? And are there any other stinky rides I should know about? I know it might ruin a bit of the fun of the rides, but seriously...with the way it's been lately we're likely to get sick. Thank you!

Well you just have to worry about figment as stitch has been closed for years.
It's in the smell room, the smell they spray is supposed to be skunk. You'll clearly see it's coming. TTBaB has a stink bug smell portion.
As far as smells you should also be aware of Soarin, Philharmagic, FoP. I know these have pleasant smells but you never know what might trigger the discomfort. I also know some of these have a warning for pregnant women not to ride but as is the decision of the guest just a heads up in case you decide to ride them

Stitch no longer exists - well, the ride.

Imagination you will probably want to hold your nose the entire time in the smell lab as the scent lingers.

The only other thing I can think of with a big stink is It’s Tough To Be A Bug.

As soon as you see the third skunk on Figment, hold your nose and don't let go till you leave the room.

Hubby makes fun of me but the smell bothers me, a lot!

I'd probably just skip Imagination completely, myself. Be aware that sometimes food smells will prove troublesome--so perhaps discuss ahead of time how you'll handle it if that sort of problem pops up. I recall the smell of hot dogs being something I was immensely aware of in certain locations when I was pregnant at WDW.

Every person is different but when I was pregnant (I had HG so I was SUPER sensitive to smell and, well, everything) even the smell of pizza or ketchup was enough to make me violently sick.
As mentioned stitch is closed, and the skunk in Imagination is just one bit, but be aware that LOTS of WDW has an artificial smell that might be lovely, but might be triggering for *you*

I'm not pregnant and the smell of turkey legs revolts my stomach :)

I have been to WDW pregnant. Definitely talk to your OBGYN about ride restrictions if you haven't already.

I got violently I'll at the smell of pizza and fried chicken. You never know what will trigger it if you have severe morning sickness (I mean, you learn pretty fast, but you'll likely be smelling things you typically don't). Honestly, I'd pack a bag for soiled clothes and a change of clothes just in case your sense of smell gets overwhelmed.

Sorry for the typos, with Java turned off to avoid the incessant pop ups and redirects, I can't edit.

Thank you! Skunks are a pretty good warning. Does it actually smell like skunk? I'm from Hawaii and I never smelled one until I moved to SC just recently. P.U. they stink! My friends make fun of me whenever I hold my nose too, because I do it in a funny way. But it's better than throwing up or getting a headache!

Thanks for the tips! I have a pretty good idea of what food smells bother me, but there are always surprises and large quantities might make us react differently. That said, your mere mention of hot dogs made me gag.

That's a good thought about the "pleasant" smells. We'll probably end up just pinching our noses whenever there is a smell of any sort, good or bad. Maybe we should bring some clothespins along! Hahaha.

This is what I do every time I ride third skunk comes up on the wheel and I hold my nose until I have left the room

Space ship earth has a fire seen that some times bother me. And sorin has a strong perfume smell but I forgot where

I've never smelt a skunk so I can't say but I will say it smells pretty gross!

The monorail. Seriously! I would say it smells like a barn, but I don’t mind the smell of barns or farms. It’s more of a poop smell?

I would definitely avoid the two "treks" at Animal Kingdom to avoid the wildlife smells. I'd also say steer clear of Kiliminajaro Safaries not only due to the smells but because it is surprisingly bumpy -- not good for pregnant ladies.

Especially if you have a driver like I had...he definitely was going on his own script and tried to make it feel like an Indiana Jones adventure 🤣

the rides that consist of a little boat on a track that ride in water have a stale moldy smell to them (its a small world, splash mountain, etc). Hard telling what will trigger an issue for you, though. I wouldnt say figment is that bad.
