The Stay Before The Stay/Magicband Question

Hi Everyone!
I booked my package, and they shipped me my MagicBand. I also just booked a room at the same hotel for the night before my package stay begins because of the timing of my flight. On my online check-in for that one night stay, should I decline a Magicband or not? If I do decline it, will it automatically be set up for me to use the magicband for my package as my room key for that night or how do I link it to do so?
On another note, do I need to check out in the morning? I'm going to call All-Star Music right now and request to have the same room.

You don't have to link it. All of your magic bands are linked to your account on My Disney Experience. So as long as the reservation is on that account, each and every magic band also linked to you on that account will work.

Should you decline it? That is totally up to you. I like to have different colors. So, I guess it would to me how many I already had, and what colors I still wanted.

When we do the pre-night, I always stop by the front desk before going to my room to see if they are going to make me move in the morning (it's just a request, not a guarantee). Both times it has been granted, though last time they ended up "moving" us because we really wanted a ground floor room.

It took some time, but then the front desk knew I was there and what I needed (maybe the room assigners don't always see the requests). But more importantly, I know before I get in the room how much unpacking to do. Then i ask if they want me to come by in the morning to check out. I don't think I've needed to either time, but I honestly can't remember.

We did a split stay recently and received 2 sets of magic bands. They were all linked to MDE and could access all rooms and all fastpasses equally. I ended up decorating them differently so I had some color choices and designs to choose from on the trip. It is totally up to you.
