Had a small victory today and thought I would share. I really don't like to be the squeeky wheel and cause a fuss to get something but I was sort of fed up today.
I moved into a new apartment complex 3 weeks ago, overall I love it! With one exception... The dryer! In 3 weeks I have had to call maintenance out 3-4 times to fix it for heat related issues. It broke 3 days ago when it over heated and would not turn back on.
I asked that instead of a repair could they just swap out my dryer with a new one. I was told no.
The very nice maintenance fellow comes to fix it today and says my problems stem from the fact I am missing a Heat Shield. This is why the dryer gets so overheated and keeps breaking. He calls the manager to ask for a new dryer... the manager says No. "Not unless the top of the dryer can reach 250 degrees"
Fine, Lets run an experiment shall we? I get the dryer going, since it will run now. I put a pot of water on top and a couple slices of bread. While the dryer runs I make a lovely grilled cheese sandwich and some hot cocoa with the boiled water. When the cycle is done my clothes are not dry (it gets hot outside but not inside....) but I do have a lovely snack to take the front office manager and give to him while I explain my situation.
Upon seeing the grilled cheese and hot cocoa they agreed to get me a new dryer.
They claim it will be here by 5.
I always knew visual aids were effective teaching tools!
