The Spelling Bee championship is on a major network tonight

I'm a big fan on watching the national spelling bee championship year after year after year which is usually on one of the ESPN channels. Wow when I saw it today that it's airing tonight on ABC, 8:00 p.m..

I love to watch it with suspense -- guess I'm a book nerd for it. And I'm looking forward to watching it tonight.

Just wondering if anyone heard why a major network picked it up? Increase interest or what?

Well, since it has been on ESPN for years now, it's not really switching networks, per se, Disney owns both ABC and ESPN. It must have gotten good enough ratings in past years on ESPN to warrant putting it on ABC, I guess.

I think it's terrific fun to watch! Those kids always blow me away with what they know.

I saw this on the news last night. 2 kids from North Texas are there. Don't know where they are from.

I might watch a bit.
