The Spa at AKL...

Have you used it? What did you think?

I'd like to "give" a massage to DH for his birthday, which is during our stay. Have you had one there? What did you think?

I haven't been able to find much information on this...hope someone out there can help!

The massage is Awsome!!!! I've been 3x's. The first time I got a girl named Debbie. She is sooooo good that I waited for an appointment with her the next two times!!!! I do the "deep tissue massage" (an extra $15.00) . SOOOOOO well worth it!!!!
I'm not sure on the $$$ but I think they start at ??$45.00 for 40.00 minutes??? Go for it!!! It also includes the use of the universal equiptment and sauna for the day!!!!

Thank you for the reply! That's exactly what I wanted to hear.
DH wasn't all for this trip in the first place, so I thought this may be a great birthday present to him. He can take a half-day off and relax while I do something with the kids.

He's always wanted to get a massage anyway, and has never done it.

Did you schedule it ahead of time, or after you got there?

(Maybe I should schedule one for myself while I'm at it...by the end of the trip I'll probably need it...LOL)

Hi! Sorry for the delay in replying, but I never come on the boards till after 9:00pm (kiddies in bed!). To answer your question I never scheduled in advance and was always lucky! I think the cancelation time is 2 hours prior so I prababy lucked out that way for openings. And DEFINETLY schedule one for yourself! Seperate from your husband so you can savor the relaxation!!!!! ~Debbie

FYI: Try not to do it on a day you'll be enjoying coctails for dinner because they reccommend you stay away from achohol for 24hrs and that you drink plenty of water to keep the good juices flowing!! I poo poo'd this the 1st time and my neck pain did return quickly. But followed the directions the second time and was relaxed the WHOLE vacation!!! ENJOY!!!

Do they do facials there too? I would love to just stay at the hotel for a facial and massage rather than traveling to GF or Saratoga Springs (if it will be open by then).

Yes you can make an appointment in advance but unfortunetly i did not keep the brocure that gives the direct # to the spa. I'm sure if you call AK direct they will connect you! Sorry I can't be of more help ~Debbie
