The souvenir you ended up hating.

has to be the small metal baking pan, about 6 or 8 inches from top of ears to bottom of chin. Mickey face. Supposed to be able to put cake mix in , bake it, and then it will pop out looking like mickey mouse.

unfortuantely for ds' 1st birthday cake, he ended up with a wierd looking blob. it was the year of the blob cake. sigh.

I love most things Disney, but I purchased the hot cocoa mixes in the little tins on my last trip and they were awful tasting! I was so excited for my pink cocoa and I ended up tossing them all out!

What about you?

I think the cocoa was good.....once you added 4 times the amount you were supposed to. :rotfl2: :lmao:

I second not liking the ice cube trays. I threw mine out after years of frustration.

The BLUE cocoa came home with us last time. Had I known how AWFUL it was, I woulda hoped that my luggage got lost on the way. BLECH!!!

I like the Mickeyroni and Cheese, though!

I also hated the cocoa at first, but I found a couple perfect uses for it...I either sprinkle it on a PB sandwich or add it to ice cream. Now I find myself using it all the time!

The Hula Stitch is one of my top five favorite things from Disney, I just hate changing his batteries all the time! The little bugger really eats 'em up!

Those spinner keychains kill me! If that stupid little pin was only a millimeter longer, it would probably last forever!

Hmmm....mine would have to be my Stitch coffee mug. When I arrived home and took it out of the box, the handle fell off. I was going to throw it away, but then thought better of it. If Stitch had his own coffee mug, I'm sure it would be broken, so I glued the handle back on and it looks nice and ugly. Stitch would be proud. :coffee:

Either that or the coconut Mickey patties. Ewww. Just ewwww.

Why do the ice cube trays suck? I've seen them both in DL Paris and WDW and never gotten them, although I always have wanted to. :(

And whats wrong with the dancing Stitch? I thought he was adorable!

Bought them for my niece who is a cocoa addict and she hated them, loved the color hated the taste

You guys are funny! What a fun thread to read on a chilly saturday morning!
On our last trip we bought those rubber braclet things with the mickey heads all around them (you know like the "live strong" braclets). We wore them for 8 days straight, pool, shower and everything. Wouldn't you know my daughters promptly broke as soon as we got to the airport! She was so upset and not one of the gift shops there had any! Not the worst thing to buy but frustrating. I did call wdw when I got home and replaced it, the nice lady sent me 4 instead of the 1 and know my daughter doesn't even know where they are!!!

I bought a pack of the small mickey head Christmas ornaments. I think there were about 10 or 12 in the pack. Anyway, when I got them home and took them out of the package, the ears fell off of almost every one of them!

You must have gotten a bad set. I got the same set 2 years ago and they are still intact -- well all except the one that the cat knocked off the tree and swatted all over the house -- it's broken. I don't back them away with my Christmas decorations -- they stay in my bottom chest drawer safe and sound.

Only because they keep getting ripped off! I keep buying them though. we just got back from Disney last week and I just had to buy a Christmas one. DH said " Why do you even bother - it will just get stolen?" They are so cute - I just can't help it , but I hate to think how much money I've spent replacing one after the other! Darn juvenile delinquents! :sad2:

Ewwwww.. i bought the Tink green Hot Cocoa mix.. YUCK. It is really gross!!! I dumped out the mix, but kept the cool container.. Man, that was one expensive container. LOL

Not sure what everyone else's trouble is, but I hate hate hate them. It's SO difficult to get the ice cubes out, and when I finally do Mickey's usually lost his ear. It's a very flexible plastic, so unlike regular ice cube trays where you just lightly twist and pop up and the ice cubes jump up out of the hole - the cubes stay in the hole and I'm stuck trying to take my fingernail to pry it up, flip the tray upside down and half of the cubes fall to the ground, etc.

That is sad :confused3 . Mine have never been taken. Although I did lose one at the car wash once.

I would probably glue it to the antenna. We also have a magnetic Tinkerbell on the back and that hasn't been taken either.

Can we name non-Disney souvenirs?

My son talked me into buying this at the Norwalk Aquarium.
http://www.usillygoose.com/tidrcl.html

The annoying tiki sounds started in the middle of the night and nobody could get them to shut off. It needed a very small phillips screwdriver (impossible to find at 2 a.m.) to get the batteries out. Needless to say it's never had batteries since.

This is the funniest thread I've read in a long time! I especially enjoy everyone's descriptions of picking up Mickey's body parts off of the floor! I also laughed out loud at the image of Tink getting dunked everytime the cat took a drink of water! :goodvibes

I hate to say it, but the refillable mugs (which I once considered to be my favorite souvenir) are now one of my least favorite. I try to use it as a travel mug for my coffee, but the coffee becomes undrinkable after 2 or 3 minutes in the mug, tastes like plastic.
My other disappointment is a classic Mickey zip-up sweatshirt, which completely shrunk and distorted after one washing. I should have taken better care, and drip-dried the thing, since it cost well over $50.

I bought those bracelets too! Mine came in a prewrapped package in which they were stretched flat onto a cardboard insert. But because they were packaged like this, they still retain that flat shape...even a year later! They look like squished rubberbands, and look terrible on the wrist! I've still got them, but learned a "valuable" lesson....that buying a single bracelet that's not squished is worth more than buying four that are all squishy....and unwearable.

The only thing I have hated was a coffee mug that I purchased about a year ago. Its the one that is all black, and has Mickey feet, hands, shorts, etc. all over it, well it LEAKS!. I should have brought it with me on this trip that we took in August, to see if I could return it. It is the only thing I have ever not liked from them.

They are a PITA to use for pancakes- been there, done that. :rotfl2: They are useful as cookie cutters, though. I never really thought about using them to cut sandwiches (duh!)- thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

And I never thought of cookie cutters! Cool - can't wait to make Mickey cookies now!! Thanks :thumbsup2

The Mickey-head ice cube trays. They blow chunks.

ITA! I bought two of them and they suck. I ended up throwing them out. MY BIL got me one of those soft (silicone?) ice trays from DLP and it works much better.
