Has anyone ever had a CD or song (Disney or otherwise) that just totally gets them ready and excited for Disney World?? My family always seems to have some new CD that we listen to while driving down and it's like the soundtrack of our vacation.

Last time it was the Lilo and Stitch Island Favorites CD. I must have listened to the "Pineapple Princess" song at least 20 times while at the Polynesian (I even heard it in Boutiki - that totally made my day!). Plus, we printed out the lyrics to "Hawaiin Roller Coaster Ride" so we could learn the Hawaiin words in the refrain and belt it out in the car while driving to Florida.

I'll bet the theme song of our next trip will be something from the Cars soundtrack. There's already a little one in our family who wants to listen to "Life is a Highway" over and over and over...

What are other people's fav songs to listen to while preparing for the magic?

This last time driving down and back we had on a pure moods cd. It is relaxing when you're driving/riding and gets you in a mellow mood. When we get TO disney world, we pop in a music from the parks cd. :teeth:

It used to be Rod Stewart's Vagabond Heart album. Once when we drove, we listened to that tape multiple times all the way there (or at least until we were close enough to pick up Disney Radio.)

Then it was Jimmy Buffett's Cheeseburger In Paradise.

Now anytime I hear the Tip For Today jingle on Subsonic radio, it really gets me excited.

We've been going to disney during the x-mass. And of course what goes with x-mass but x-mass music. Anyways we keep hearing this one song. And kept hearing it and hearing it, and well hearing it. Finally we were like it's either Bea Arthur singing it or it's Angela Lansbury. my bf and my two friends and myself really couldn't decided who it was. I was in favor of Angela Lansbury (because she's done a lot of stuff for disney) my bf thought it was Bea Arthur and my friends well they didn't care! When we finally came home we found out it was both. The song was from Mame called 'We need a little Christmas' evertime I hear the song I'm like Disney World. I even downloaded it to my ipod. Everybody needs a little Bea Arthur and Angela Lansbury in thier ears singing you to sleep LOL

As soon as we start heading down the road we stick a disney CD in and the first song we listen to is "On the Open Road" by goofy and max from 'the goofy movie'. Then we listen to the rest of the CD and it's is pretty much all disney CD's over and over until we get on property and listen to the visitor info.

Since we live only an hour or so away from Disney [ :cool1: ] we tend to listen to the same radio station from our house to Disney - it is usually 102 Jamz. Mostly hip hop. :goodvibes

We listen to the Illuminations Fireworks soundtrack, the old Tapestry of Dreams parade soundtrack, and the Wishes soundtrack. It gets the whole family psyched up for Disney!!

Mine of course is the Disney Parks CD. Especially my two favorite songs: Main Street USA and Splash Mountain theme. I already have it in my truck listening to it everytime I'm in it. I still have 58 more days to go!!!! :sad2:

Ours is the song from the Mickey Mouse club...M I C (see you real soon) K E Y (Why because we love you) M O U S E :thumbsup2

definitely a Disney Parks CD

HAS TO have Pirates, Grim Grinning Ghosts, Laughing Place, and Zip-A-Dee-Doh-Dah

I've got a big selection of Disney cd's from the parks and from movies. The one I tend to listen to the most is a compilation of background music from the various parks I found from an online website. It has everything from music from all of the parks that you would either hear in common areas outside attractions to entrance music and more! The link to this site is:

As weird as this sounds but I have the entire Splash Mountain ride on my computer along with a lot of the theme music from the different parks & lands & queues (sp).

But to make time go by fast I like listening to *gasp* Britney Spears.

That's exactly what we listened to the whole time we were in the rental car driving around the property last time we were there. Now whenever we pop that in we all just smile and think of that trip.

We all listen to our own individule music players, I always make sure I have some Disney music on my ipod however. Before the trip my sisters and I run around belting out disney songs.

We watched the old "Sing-a-long Songs: Disneyland Fun" video about 1,000 times when my DD, now 13, was a toddler, so that is what we listened to during our trip...we burned a CD of that...boy were the Dapper Dans impressed when my son requested "Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA" and he knew all the words. Plus everytime we ate we sang, "I'm so rumbly in my tumbly"...pretty sad, I know!

Chigirl, my DD who is now 15 also grew up on that tape. We must have watched it a million times and still watch it when we are close to leaving. Do you remember the first part, of course you do, when Chip 'n Dale are straightening up Main Street before the opening and they are singing 'Do Do Do Do Do Do, Do Do Do Do Do Do'. Well the first time we went to DW after we got and watched the tape, DD saw Chip 'N Dale on Main Street, she was probably 2 or 3, and she hollered 'it's DO DO'. :rotfl2: We busted out laughing, of course other people just thought we were nuts! :rotfl:

OMGosh . . .I so want to share this with everyone at DIS and I don't know how . . .

http://www.live365.com/stations/sorcerer1

It's online radio playing audio from WDW. It is awsome.

RIGHT NOW IT IS MUSIC FROM THE AFTERNOON PARADE AT MK!!!

Next up is "Remember the Magic"!!! wipe the tears away!!!

Sometimes it is the audio from an attraction!!

I think I'll post this on a few more places this afternoon.
ENJOY

When I hear the music to Spectromagic, I feel like I am there. Last time we went we ended up at the MK almost every night, so we heard Spectromagic all the time. Also, Main Street Music from the MK gets me too.

If you create an account on live365.com, then create a favorites list. Do a search for Disney, and a ton of stations come up. Pick the stations that have park music (there are some that are just songs from disney movies). Some of my fav. stations are Mouseworld Radio 1, Sorceror Radio, Radio Buena Vista, D-Magic Radio (one of my most fav., a different park each day), Disney Magic, Mouse House Radio, and more.

Also, if you are big into the entrance, opening, and main street music of the MK, then tune into Mouseworld Radio 1 everyday at 8:00 AM. At 8:00 it plays entrance music to the MK for an hour. Then, you hear the rope drop speech for a minute, then it play the "Good Morning" song from the MK (includes the Main Street USA song), and then you hear the wonderful Main Street Background music for another hour. We always have this playing in our house in the morning. I love it!! :cloud9:

I also love the Spectro theme, the kids and I have several WDW CDs that someone was kind enough to burn for us and we listen to it from the moment we have a trip planned on up to the drive to WDW. My kids love the POTC theme and Tiki Room, I actually like IASW, yeah I know I may be the only one..lol We also rent WDW movies from our local library and plan startegies with old park maps..
