The Smiths are Heading Back...For 10 Days of Disney Magic! (Updated 8/16)

Sorry for the week long blow off of DIS my faithful readers. I just was NOT feeling Disneyish this week at all. I tried to keep up with some of your PTR/TRs but had not motivation for my own. As I've mentioned, the last week of July is usually a nightmare for my family and while this year was by no means the worst...it wasn't a picnic either. Monday morning was the 7th anniversary of my dad's passing- which was a perfect time for Randy to get rear-ended on the highway :headache: Randy is fine- his car less so. But people can be fixed. The rest of the week was just one stupid headache after another. Friday we were supposed have Fios installed 8-12. Randy was leaving for a bachelor party weekend but agreed to hang out until they got there. WEELLLLLL Noon came and went with no technician/no call. After I called 3 times and got 3 different stories where they were, the technician called me at 2:30 from the wrong street (he was on Hampshire ROAD instead of STREET).

But yesterday was a new day and it was my long awaited return to the G20 Spa in Boston. Locals MUST go...if you aren't local and come to Boston- save some spending money for this. The place is amazing and the best part is that if you get ANY service (even a $15 brow wax) you can hang out at the spa all day using the amenities.

So we went in early yesterday morning despite our 1pm appointments and enjoyed the day . We left briefly to have an early lunch at one of the outdoor cafes on Newbury St. It was such a perfect day. My BFF (who lives in San Francisco)even flew the red eye into Boston to meet us. Needless to say, it was just what the Dr ordered and helped pick up my mood immensely. After I got home I did a little retail therapy that didn't hurt either :rolleyes1

Because I feel bad for deserting you all week RIGHT before a trip, I will even show you the before and after pics of my hair. Since I went grey at 18, I dye my hair waaaaaaay too often and it's completely ruined my hair (I used to have gorgeous hair) . So I decided to have a Keratin treatment done on it. NOW, a full Keratin treatment last 6 months but also costs $600! So I got the mini-treatment. Supposed to last 4-6 weeks. We'll see. I can't wash it for 72 hours which you KNOW is going to drive me crazy but so far, the results are AMAZING!!!

Look what I found for Randy at Kohls (where I went to pick up a couple of last minute things for the trip)

Now he can match Aisling's Phineas and Ferb custom :dance3:

Well I have a busy week ahead. Have to head off to church, then up to the Beach for the remainder of my SIL's bachelorette weekend, Monday night is family dinner, Wed night I'm having my brows waxed and a pedi for the wedding, Thursday is my GNO, Friday is the rehearsal and Sat the wedding. ....PHEW!

But in the meantime I'm "in the teens" dancing...19 days baby!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Your hair looks beautiful!!! :goodvibes

I'm sorry it's been a tough week for you but I'm very glad that you had a great day yesterday, pampering sure does help!

This week should fly by for you since you are going to be so busy!! That is a great thing right before a Disney trip. :banana::banana:

I'm sorry last week was so rough. :hug: Your hair looks amazing! I don't know how much the mini-treatments cost, but I'd say it's worth whatever you paid! :laughing: Seriously, very beautiful. :cloud9:

Thanks girls!!! Went to the beach for my SILs bachelorette and not a hint of frizz yet!!! The mini-treatment was $60. (It was $85 but they had given us $25 gift cards to come back after our last trip) Totally worth every penny. I haven't paid to have my hair colored or cut in 11 years so I was due ;) AND she gave me a free trim because after she finished it all up, it really was pretty ratty on the bottom (I promised Aisling I wouldn't cut mine until she cut hers...but I figured what she doesn't know won't hurt her :rolleyes1)

And we are booked solid right up to the trip so YES, this is going to fly by. Obviously we have work plus the craziness of this week . Sunday we drive back home from the wedding, Monday is family dinner with my inlaws. Tuesday Aisling's camp is having an "end of summer" luau. Thursday I have GNO. Friday we leave for Maine and are in Maine til early Sunday morning. We have to be back for the 11:30 Mass since it's my grandfather's rememberance Mass, then we are going out for lunch with my grandmother, at 3pm we have a bday party and then I need to get home to pack! Monday (the 15th) will be family dinner again. Tuesday Aisling is having dinner with her best friend from school who we literally haven't seen all summer because of the insanity. Thursday I'm having my brows touched up and then it's GNO (with the WHOLE gang...both the CA transports will be home) and we leave for the airport at 4:15AM Friday. So on 1 of those 2 free Wednesdays I REALLY need to meet up with my TA and get my documents :rotfl2:

Wow! The time is going to fly before your trip!

Sorry about the crappy week but I am glad Randy is okay!

Your hair looks great!!!! I am going to have to try one of those treatments. The older I get the frizzier, more dull and lifeless my hair gets.

My DH would love that Perry shirt - I am going to have to go to Kohl's this week to look for it! I made him a Doofenshmirtz (sp?) line eliminatoranator shirt for our last trip and he loved it! (I got the design from one of the creative DISigners)

I'm sorry about your horrible week. Glad its over with only minor issues. :hug:

Your hair is definitely fabulous! I might have to get one of those treatments!

Whew, what a busy month you have! I thought my schedule was busy with things to do and Tyler's baseball games but you have me beat! Seems like neither one of us will see August, it will be flying by!

Let me know if you can't find the Perry shirt because my Kohls still has them and I could pick him up one.

Thanks about the hair. I washed it last night and I was shocked at how straight it still is. You should DEFINITELY do it!!!!

Any time you want to try G20...let me know (not intending to rhyme there!)

Trying to do the Garden Grocer order...can anyone think of anything we may "need"????????????????

I asked Olivia what you guys needed to eat at Disney and she said "water, brown sugar pop tarts, Mickey lollipops, apple juice, fruit snacks, and sweet peanuts". Not sure if that helps at all!

Thank you Olivia! Out of that, Aisling will drink the water and that's about it. Pop tarts...nope (although Randy asked for the strawberry frosted ones for himself ;)) , lollipops...nope. apple juice...nope. fruit snacks...nope. And I have no clue what sweet peanuts are LOL!

Is Ash a picky eater? Livy is to come extent, but she is mostly pretty good. Sweet peanuts = honey roasted. She had them for the first time at a baby shower last weekend and loved them!

Thanks for the offer on the Perry shirt! You are too sweet especially with how busy you are right now!

We've never done a Garden Grocer order. I can't wait to hear what you think on price, selection, delivery, etc. Jordan's order would be: donuts, cupcakes, cookies, candy, etc. LOL. My order would be: cheese/peanut butter crackers, granola bars, water bottles, breakfast options, etc. Things that are easy to take in the parks or eat as a quick breakfast in the room.

She is a super picky eater. Ate everything in front of her until she was 2 1/2. 2 1/2 hit and WHAM... she just stopped. I made her eat a diced tomato the other night...a DICED tomato and she gagged for 5 minutes afterward!

Also despite what I'm sure people think we they look at her size, we don't really let her eat sweets. The only sweet she really likes is ice cream so she can get that on occassion but that's about it. She is a huge fan of salty snacks but she only gets one "junk food" item a day so she has to choose wisely ;)

We have used Garden Grocer before. We were very happy with them. Eveything was delivered on-time, kept cold, and no mistakes at all with the order. In fact I emailed them the other day asking if they might start carrying Pineapple Chobani (they have been adding flavors recently). They told me to write pineapple in the comments and if they have it in the stores, they'll get it for me. The prices are definitely more expensive than you pay at home and there is the delivery charge of $14 (was $12 but they added 2 because of the gas prices), but it's cheaper than a cab off property and the prices are WAAAAY cheaper than onsite.

I usually just ship a case of water and pack some snacks in our suitcases (we fill the space with souvenirs on the way home) but it is nice to know that Garden Grocer is a good option if we need more stuff. Your list looks good! :thumbsup2

15 Day dance!!!!! :banana::banana::cheer2::yay::woohoo::cool1::yay::woohoo:

We used to do that too but it's just so much nicer to have everything delivered and to be able to get stuff like fresh fruit and yogurt. I need all the suitcase space I can get!

Woo Hoo!! 15 days!! :dance3::yay::dance3:

:banana::banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo::dance3::dance3:

Can I single digit dance for myself too?! :cheer2:

Thanks for dancing with me girls!!! We need to pick our Sept date soon!!!!

My TA dropped my travel documents off at my house tonight!!!!

That being said, I think Disney really needs to re-think the 1 luggage tag per person thing. I definitely need more tags. Hoping I can get some more last minute. The new bag tags are cute. OK back to work on my daily travel card. I laminate them and keep them in my bag with all that days info on it :)
