The Smiths are Heading Back...For 10 Days of Disney Magic! (Updated 8/16)

Hi Kristine! I saw your postings from Erin's TR and thought I would come on over and see your PTR. I noticed in your last TR you went to BBB and loved it so I lurked over to your other BBB (the unmagical FGIT). I worked there for a year and 1/2 so of course I had to see who your FGITs were! The unmagical one is typical. I know her and that's her.. ugh. Her "helper" was a great lady but she is no longer at BBB. The one you had last year is a great FGIT! I always enjoyed working with her and she is pretty magical!

I'm going to head back and read all of your PTR details but already staying at BC is going to be awesome! I've only stayed at YC but love love loved it!! SAB is a great part of the resort! I even had to use the "gym" to shower before my flight and those facilities were great as well! Can't wait to read all the updates!

Wow I can't believe Aisling trip is so close. How are you handling it?
How is your eye?

I can't believe Tink is off by a day :sad1:

:welcome: Megan! Yes, Dawn was a great FGIT. Her helper (also some kind of "nature" sounding name I remember) was also REALLY fun. My thought is that the unmagical ones didn't get their first choice as a CM ;)

Do you know anyone who has used the hair salon at BC? I turned into a poodle at WDW (hence the braids) but I want my hair cute for our family pics. I was thinking of forking of up the cash to have it done. Any thoughts?

I can't believe Tink is off by a day :sad1:

I'm a little anxious...not going to lie. I'm sure she will be fine. However when I mentioned to my MIL that she is NOT allowed soda, she said "that's fine, I'll just let her have some of my diet coke" :headache: On what planet is diet coke not soda?

The eyebrow is doing well. Still a little swollen and black and blue but the scab tell off tonight which is fabulous because it was really itchy LOL!

At least she's one day behind instead of one day early! :lmao:

Very true!

Good point! :goodvibes

Getting ready? BTW, Aisling will be at O'Hana and MK on Wed.

You know you are crazy when you will not allow your daughter to wear her gorgeous O'Hana custom because you don't want it wrecked for "your" vacation :rotfl2:

Glad the eye is better

There is NO way I would send that outfit with my MIL she would destroy it before it came out of the suitcase :lmao:

I think you have a very valid point!

It's ADR Day, are you all set??

Glad the eye is better

SIX MONTHS FOLKS!!!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Which means today means that I'm following WW seriously. I've been attempting to eat a little better, drink more water and get to the gym more often for the past two weeks. I got weighed at my Drs on the 8th and between the 8th and last night I had lost 4lbs already :banana::banana: Maybe I will lose 40 by WDW??? :confused3 (OK I'd officially be happy with 20-25)

SO my MIL just called panicking about the snow forecasted for Monday morning. I've been telling her since Wed that we are supposed to get 2-4 inches Mon. Not a huge deal BUT since she was flying to Orlando by way of CHICAGO :scared1: and only had a 1 hr layover, I was worried about them being delayed and missing the connection. So she wouldn't call. Tonight she decides to panic about it and called me begging to change her flight to tomorrow. It's Feb Vaca here...there are no flights avail tomorrow. I was able to get her a later flight on Monday with a better connection (BWI) so here's hoping that works out better for them. Snow is supposed to be over in the morning and flight isn't until 2pm.

In the meantime, tomorrow is ADR day (Today is 6 months but tomorrow is my 180 day mark) so I will be up bright and early! Wish me luck!

Good luck with your ADRs! I hope Aisling has a good trip, although I see your concern about Diet Coke/soda thing! :rotfl:

UGGGHHHH Just typed up a long entry and it deleted:sad1:

However this was NOT an indication of how ADR Day went!!!:banana::banana: We got everything with wanted (guess that calls for double the bananas):banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: And I finished by 6:20. Not bad :thumbsup2

So we were able to get almost everything within 5 minutes (and most right on the money) for what we were asking for. Would you like to guess which one was the furthest off?

Was it Le Cellier? NOPE...right on time!

Akershus Princess Breakfast? Wrong Again...right on time

Chef Mickeys? 1900 PF???? Nope- BOTH on time

Maybe 'Ohana? ok that one was off by 5 mins

Surely it couldn't have been Cape May. Who goes over to Cape May? Well Cape May was in 2nd place with 15 minutes off.

But the big winner....with an HOUR difference (we put in 7pm, they only offered 6pm or 9pm was...........................................................

TREX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously? TRex? And I booked it on Day 6 which mean that only people booking this morning could get it right now. How weird is that? :confused3 I'm thinking TRex has a little glitch and more times may open up.

So without further ado. Our ADR list (again please keep in mind that this was brought to you by a 7 year old girl...Randy and I had to beg for Boma because surely there was another character meal that we could have squeezed in ;))

Fri 8/19 Cape May 5:45pm
Sat 8/20 Chef Mickey’s 7pm
Sun 8/21 Sci Fi 7pm
Mon 8/22 Le Cellier 1pm
Tues 8/23 Tusker House 8:05am
Wed 8/24 Cape May 9:25am and TRex 6pm
Thurs 8/25 Akershus 8am and 1900 PF 7pm
Fri 8/26 Boma 7pm
Sat 8/27- O’Hana 6:55pm

In case you haven't read my previous TRs and might be questioning the 7pm dinners with a 7 year old....trust me, we do this on purpose. Quickly into Aisling's first trips, we realized that 6pm dinners did not work for us. The reason is simple. You go to a park in the morning, come back after lunch for a break, get ready and get back out to dinner. It seemed so simple when it was just Randy and I. But with a kid, it's a process. First off, if they are really tired....they are going to konk out on the bus. Which means, by the time you get back to your hotel, they are wide awake again. IF you manage to get them back to sleep at all, it's going to take awhile and usually requires a swim. If they do want to go back to sleep, and you are trying to make a 6pm dinner ressie, they can maybe sleep 20 min and then you have to get them up to get dressed (read MELTDOWN). So we realized that 7pm dinners work much better. Plenty of time to swim/nap AND not having to waste money on taxis because you realize that there is no way you can get to dinner in 30 min on Disney transportation with a screaming preschooler who doesn't want her hair to look pretty for dinner  :rotfl2:

Hey Kristine, that's great you got all your ADRs! We booked TRex for our last trip and I got the exact time I wanted by calling them directly. They were booked completely online, but had availability when I called! We're still trying to book flights to figure out when we're going!!

:cheer2::dance3::jumping1:
That is weird about Trex but glad you got everything you wanted.

I totally get meltdowns. The only problem here is we HAVE to eat at 6 or it will sent my autism and FAS child off into melt mode major. NOT 5:55 that is not when we eat mom it has to be 6

YAYAYAY for getting all you wanted :cool1::banana: That's always a great feeling!! I wonder if TRex is like Ragland Road and has another site that they offer reservations through!! I couldn't get anything through Disney for RR and then I tried a different way and I had my choices of times...maybe something to look into!!!

All this talk of Disney food is making me hungry!! HMMMMMMM....

WOOT WOOT COngrats on your weight loss!! That is FANTASTIC!!!

T-Rex doesn't open many reservations through Disney. You can call them directly and get a reservation. We did that for our September trip. I didn't make a reservation at all for our Christmas trip and got in just fine. Glad you got all that you wanted.

Love the ADRs! That's a list that I would be very happy with - but then again it kind of looks like my ADR list was created by a kid sometimes! :lmao:

I think I read somewhere that the non-disney restaurants (such as T-Rex and other DTD places) offer less tables for ADRs than others, so that might be the reason why you had a hard time getting your exact time. :confused3

CHEF MICKEY'S!?!? Really. I now it's my birthday but maybe I'll just come up another day;)
Glad you got what you wanted, you're making me think I need to figure out what days we're going in Oct. and start booking. Looking forward to the rest of your report and to seeing you again!!:banana::banana: woo hoo!!!

Congrats on the ADRs!!

How weird about TRex, I bet more times do open up.

All these comments and NOBODY commented that people could have booked TRex before today. Sorry...my brain doesn't turn back on that early in the am!

I don't really mind about the 6pm. That is our hang out day. So we don't have to rush there. I'll probably just keep the 6pm. Plus I forget what time that dance party was at DTD but I KNOW that Aisling wants to do that again.

I know, I know about Chef Mickey's. But that was Aisling's top choice. So we had to do it. Actually I can't really think of a Disney restaurant that hasn't gone downhill in the past couple of years but when the Princess is happy we all are happy ;)

BTW, ADR making on WW S*CKS! All I want is something yummy and high calorie now :rolleyes1

Update on Aisling's trip. They are having a great time. It's super warm (they actually left MK early to go swimming today ) Yesterday they went to Universal, today to MK, and tomorrow back to Universal. My MIL said she'll probably sleep all weekend. Highlight of today was that Mickey was at the 'Ohana breakfast. When she called me she said "wasn't that a great surprise" :rotfl2:

So in my free time I finally got some sewing done :thumbsup2 A little spin on the Jolly Holiday dress. We are going to see Mary Poppins on March 13th. Since it will be freezing here, she'll have a white top underneath (and of course Mary Poppins hair bows to match!)
