Is this a home you plan on living in or an investment (if you don't mind me asking). We have a "country house" which is where I disappear to every weekend (no computer there). We've been going back and forth for 24 years, it's fun but can also be a little tiring.

No, when first two sons got married, we gave them the down payments for their homes. Now third son is engaged but cannot qualify for a house, even with our down payment, so we are buying the house for him (he and his fiance still live at home with parents so I'm extremely motivated to find a place for them). We are in a high foreclosure area, in fact that is all that is on the market, so it's been quite an adventure so far.

We used to have something at the coast and would go every weekend. Then I got the dogs and now it's too much hassle to travel with them.

We live in Jersey but have a house in the Poconos too. It was great for the first 3-4 years, but it got to be very tiresome after that. Working M-F, then driving 2 hours on a Friday night, coming home Sunday afternoon so I could do laundry and clean the Jersey apartment before going back to work on Monday. Too much. I stopped going. DH still goes frequently, but it's just not for me. I'm not a country girl; I prefer concrete and traffic. Actually I would much rather own a house down the shore 'cause I'm really a beach person, but that's just not financially possible. I can't afford to park my car down the Shore in the summer let alone buy a place!

That's so weird! We are in NY during the week and go to NJ on the weekends We are about 25-30 miles from Long Beach Island and we try to go to the beach as often as possible. We went on Saturday and walked on the beach for over an hour.

It was harder when I was working, but I've been home for two years so now I have time during the week for laundry, etc.
