I've also wondered. Everyone at Maxis (online, chat & videos) are sticking with the 17th. But I've seen the 14th listed on some PC Gaming web sites. Tuesday is definitely more traditional.

I preordered the DVD one at amazon.com (took free shipping, so it'll take a wee bit longer to get here...but no worries...I'll be in disney!)

can't wait to see this game in action (and get some cheats so I can build some fun house and buy all the stuff! heeheh)

I just called my EB to see if they were still taking pre-orders (surprise gift for my Aunt)

Anyhow, they told me it was going to be released on the 15th

I don't have SC4. Hopefully, there will be great neighborhoods to download.

The 15th? Hmmm.....I guess it will come out when it does. I'm sure there are stores that will put it out as asoon as they get it, regardless of the date on the calendar. The 14th or 15th would be great.

Just a quick FYI.

I had ordered my Sims2 strategy guide from EBgames.com and just received notification it shipped today and I will receive it on Tuesday.

Normally not a big thing, but their guide release date is 2wks earlier than Amazon's.

i was just perusing the EB games website and there's an option for in-store pick up. is anyone familiar with this? if i pre-order the sims 2 dvd edition, how quickly will it be ready for pick up from my local store? i'm itching to get my hands on this game as quickly as possible!!!

oh...and is the only way to get the DVD edition is to pre-order it? will it be available in stores?

scarlett873, I don't know. Initially, they said that the DVD edition was only avalable by pre-oder. You'll have to contact your store to find out.


I've been reading the Forums on TSR. Folks there are saying that the game ships on the 14th. Pre-orders with next-day shipping will likely get it on the 15th. Some stores may have it out on the 15th. All this is not official or guaranteed though.

BTW, does anyone know the address for the official Sims 2 BBS. Does Maxis have one?

From what I read while lurking on the Sim2 section of the BBS on The Sims site. They are upgrading the Sims2 Showcase and will be adding a new and improved Sims2 BBS.

The Sims2 section of the Sims BBS is hilarious. People are getting stressed waiting for their games and showing quite a bit of anger towards the folks who have gotten the Strategy Guides already. There are alot of spoiler threads. From some of the info from those spoiler threads, this game is going to be really cool. The link is below for your enjoyment!!

I rad people getting their panties bunched up because other players want to use cheat codes. GEEZ! Other people using cheat codes or strategy guides has NO EFFECT on others' gameplay. So lame.
