Anyone know if or when there is likely to be a soft opening????

Matthew is desperate to go on that ride ! I can't wait to hear 1st hand experience of it !

I couldn't find anything except 'Spring 2008' everywhere, it sounds like it'll be really good from descriptions i've read.

There 2 week ago, looks ready from outside. This is from Wiki
Florida
The construction began at Universal Studios Florida in May 2007, shortly after the announcement of the ride's construction. In February 2008, the original concrete on the ground from Back to the Future: The Ride was dismantled. In early March, the attraction's construction accelerated by building an extended queue simulating circus tents, and the huge Krusty the Clown head was started.[3] Construction will be completed in April, 2008, and although Universal executives had been tentatively planning the opening of the attraction at the end of March, 2008,[11][12] the attraction has yet to open. Reports in the travel industry place the opening date on May 15, but Universal has neither confirmed nor denied this date.

Here's a link to news of the grand opening. No ideas about any soft openings tho', Tony - as it stands at the moment, it opens the day we leave...

I must be behind the times i actually thought the Simpson ride opened years ago lol.

Krustyland looks really cool though :)

We may be lucky and just get a go. Fingers crossed.

When we were there a couple of weeks ago we asked Guest Relations if there was any chance of a soft opening while we were there and they said they really didn't know, but suspected not They were hoping it would be imminent but none of them had even been on it themselves yet.

We leave Orlando on 17th May, but I imagine there will be huge lines for it on 15th and 16th. not sure I want to spend a day waiting for one ride.:confused3

Get there at opening and go straight for it, then if everyone is queueing for it after that then the rest of the park will be emptier :goodvibes

That would be my advice too. It worked for us when the Mummy first opened.

We get off the DCL's Wonder early on the 15th sooo may swing by Universal Studios first thing to see if we can be a part of the Grand Opening... :goodvibes

If you go onto the universal boards there is a review of the ride. I think there have been some soft openings.

We were second in line for the very first soft opening on Wednesday! Without spoiling it all I'll say is that this is a great addition to the park and definetely worth checking out! PM me if you want any info regarding the ride itself.

I am not a Simpsons fan, tried watching a couple of shows about 5 years ago and not seen one since. Don't really know anything about them, will I still enjoy it?

I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy it. The storyline is clearly explained while you wait so you don't necessarily need much prior knowledge of The Simpsons and the whole ride is just very immersive and fun.

Thank you, will give it a go in August if lines are not bad or do they have single riders line?

I didn't notice a single riders line while we were there, only an express line but you need to pay for that privelige. If you head for the ride first then I don't think the lines will be too long. As we were first in line we didn't do much queueing but from what I could see it seemed like quite a fun queue so I think the time could go by quite quickly anyway.

Thanks Guys we are looking forward to checking this out.:thumbsup2
