The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

OH no!!! That's awful! Especially when you have a goal in sight and want to do this thing that just in and of itself is somewhat painful- All my "pain" is in my leg muscles which have turned frighfullly cottage cheesy since returning home.

The mind wants to but the "twins" are not convinced. :lmao:

I have got plenty of cottage cheese I would like to give away. My muscles get sore so I know that is good but the other pain usually gets in the way.

UGH, Pat, I'm so sorry! keep up the ice and the tape- you'll be fine by Oct. And hey, FYI, think tentatively about Oct. 2012. ;)

Thanks. The ice seems to have done its job. The ankle is OK, no pain unless I try to go into an extended dorsi flex or rotate it to the side I rolled it on. All in all, being built like Gumby has its advantages. ;)
The crack or pop was the worst of it but I think it was a ligment being over extended and then snapping over the bone. I am thankful I am a "giver" in that respect.

I have learned a lot about this body and I really feel I have a better idea of what works than a doctor that sees me for 15 minutes. I really was not surprised but I thought at least he would have new excercises for me since I told him the traditional ones I cannot do. :confused3

I am pretty sure no permanent damage was done. This time. :)

Such a lot of trouble to go to just to get out of a race. :sad2:

Hope you get better soon, but just enjoy relaxing for a while and do some DISing. That makes bad knees feel better, I'm sure.

3 strides from the driveway I roll my left ankle from the street part to the curb part. I hear it crack LOUD.

Reading this made me cringe, gasp and cover my mouth with my hands. Good grief woman! I twisted my right ankle like that really bad when Hannah was 2. It was Halloween night and I stepped in a dip between the sidewalk and the grass. Then a few months later it got to where my ankle would lock up on me and it was really painful to walk sometimes. I ended up having surgery to repair the ligament or tendon (can't remember now which one it was!) because it was torn. I'm hoping yours is just a really bad sprain.

Ouch! I'm in pain just reading all that! Take care of yourself, I hope your ankle heals quickly

:lmao: Isn't it?? :lmao:

We just got back from DS's Bday dinner. His Bday is St. Patty's day but the place he likes to go is a big sports TV place so we opted for tonight to dodge the NCAA crowds. I can walk on it fine. It is tender but I am just being careful with rotation and it should be Okay.

DISing helps except when my laptop is on my legs and I need to cross one over the other, I have to position it just so but it's OKay.

Being built like Gumby I am sure it will be OKay now. I have a good range of motion. I would say normal but I am a little more flexible than most so what is considered normal is a little less for me but I am watching it and giving abit more TLC this evening. Tomorrow morning will be a good indicator of what happened.

Thanks. I think it will eventually be OKay. A little tender and it is snap, crackle and popping a bit more thatn usual but I am just being careful how I plant that foot and rotate it.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about the knees and ankle. My knees are okay, but I've rolled my ankles several times. Ice it, elevate it, and give it some time.

Thanks. The knees are a mess and the ankles have been rolled before. Roller skates and clogs - enough said. ::yes::

Ice it, elevate it, and give it some time.

Done, Done and waiting :rolleyes1 Getting ready to do round 2 on the ice as a preventative measure.

After my lucsious Lost on Safari I stumbled my way to Find the safari.

Let’s check the wait time.

So close to getting a picture of this.

Did you know that elephants use their tusks to get the red clay and eat it? It has many nutrients for the elephants. ;)

Once again we got sidetracked by the poachers. And once again we saved Little Red. Even though he is not called Little Red anymore.

Guess what ? Here comes a parade again.

P7084362.jpg

Don’t worry I will spare you from watching the parade from the other side.
Well just a couple
Chip and Dale and a guy with arms coming out of his head.

Next up some shopping in Asia.

Agh! Hope you feel better soon!

Love the safari pictures! I have never gotten a giraffe backside shot.

Not too bad this morning. A little stiff and I think the muscles need some TLC but other than that I should be good to go.

That would have been a great picture if I could see the other side of the giraffe.:rotfl2:

for the parade!

Those were for you. :cool1: I got a couple of good shots and had to show them all.

Then I stopped again to watch it come around the other way.

I like the energy in that parade. :cheer2:

Thanks for the info about the elephants and the red clay, I had no idea ;)

The photo of all those drums in the gift shop is really cool, I guess I've never been in that shop because I know I've never seen that before.

Such a fun and colorful parade!

I know I took that picture the moment that line became predictable and a bit unmagical. This trip I noticed a bunch of newbies so they all ate it up - not the clay, the info- so I enjoyed watching others react for the first time.

The drums were right in that little gift shop across from Tusker house. Not sure if that is a permanent display or they changed it from time to time.
This time it caught my eye. Probably because someone else here had the same picture and I had to see for myself where it was.

Pat, sorry you've not been feeling well...hope you are 100% soon.

Love the safari pics--especially the giraffe (my favorite).

And you got great parade pictures too. We've only seen it once and we will miss it again this trip, but I'm determined to get back to it.
