Have you shopped there?
What did you buy?

I picked up these wonderful bars of shampoo. My hair feels and smells great and my scalp is no longer a dry wasteland of flakes. LOL

I can't wait to get back there and pick up a few more bars. Normally I shop at the dollar store for hair products but decided to splurge a bit and try something different. Bummer that I ended up liking the soap so much, eh? :p

I LOVE BASIN!!!!!

You have to try their "Body Butter" it is the world's best body cream!! their cold fresh facials are awesome too! and if you're looking for a relaxing night, try one of their massage bars! Awesome!

I'm a Basin junky! They have a website too! the only things you can't get are the refridgerated products. www.basin.com

I'm addicted!

I have a horrible skin sensitivity/allergies so I'm really apprehensive about trying new things.
I wasn't able to find the scent (flavor? LOL) of the shampoo bar on their site though. Probably just have to wait until I go back in Jan.

Doesn't that store SMELL wonderful though? *sigh*

Every time I walk in I sing "I'm in Basin, I'm in Basin!"

I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!!!!

Do you play with their samples when you go in there? Even though I have sensitive skin, I still play with the samples they have sitting out. :p

I don't know how close you are, but there is a Basin in Mall of America. :)

I was just going to post what Jenn Lynn did. You don't have to go all the way to WDW, just make a 5 hour drive down here! :)

I LOVE that shop. I have pumpkin soap in my bathroom right now from them, and use their Almond body butter regularly.

Hm..never tried their facial stuff...may help with my skin! Might have to check those out!

I love those shampoo bars, they are the best. I believe you can order off of their website as well.

That's so funny--DH and DD refer to Basin as "That Smelly Store at DTD." It makes DD sneeze.

I love it, though. Now, they just leave me there and I meet up with them later.

the bath bomb with Coco Butter in it is soooo wonderful! It makes your skin so soft.

I just LOVE that store!

On a side note, my step sis and I were there in November. (My dad died 4 years ago, and she grew up with my dad too...)

We were shopping separate and after smelling a bunch of soaps, I smelled one that screamed "dad" scent. I quick went to find here and have her smell it and to see if she thought it smelled like my dad too. She was at check check out... buying the exact same soap! LOL!!!

I love Basin, too. After my first visit there, I was inspired to start making my own soaps. Its fun and I can do whatever scent/color combo I want! I also made soap baskets for Xmas gifts last year. Everyone loved them. :D

Love that store! We bought those bath bombs and I am still kicking myself for not getting the sea salt cleaner (forgot what it is called); it really made my skin soft!

Jenn Lynn and Tykes, I detest shopping so I avoid the Mall Of America at all costs. :hyper:

I found several of the shampoo bars online but not the one I'm currently using. Oh well. This just calls for another trip to......

Disneyworld! :p ::yes::

I am thinking about trying to make soap. How hard have you found this to be??

Its SO easy. I work only with glycerin soap so its not hazardous - even kids can help out. An easy way to get started is by picking up supplies at your local craft store (like Michaels). You can buy scents, colors, and glycerin soap base. I just melt it in a glass measuring cup set in a pan of water on the stove. Then you add your scent and color. Then you pour it into a mold, or whatever you like. I picked up a couple of books for ideas (books are found in the craft stores and even Barnes & Noble) and that helped me get started. After I got the hang of it, I started buying better quality supplies, like high quality soap base, colors that won't bleed or fade, etc. You can get really creative and I find it very relaxing to do. I find that the soaps that I make without prefab molds are the most fun and the most beautiful. I often make a shallow rubbermaid container of translucent colors (scented) then cut them into little shards and chunks. I then fill a piece of PVC pipe (closed at one end with saran wrap) with clear or lightly colored white base (scented the same as the chunks) and the chunks. After removing the soap from the "mold" I slice it and its absolutely beautiful. You can even make patterns in this sort of mold. Last Christmas I created a pink "insert" of soap in a spiral pattern (just by bending a "sheet" of "soft" soap before it set). I then set it in the PVC pipe of white soap and gave it all a candy scent. It came out looking like a slice of peppermint candy. It was perfect for the holidays. The possibilities are endless and its so much fun! Just be sure to work on a covered surface. I bought a cheap vinyl tablecloth that I use on the kitchen table.

I love Basin! Last year I got some Mickey soap slices, a pine tree soap slice and some bath bombs.
