No this trip was started out as fun, until it was almost canceled. In fact we were asked if we were going to continue doing it. My DH said yes. Yes everyone is happy at least no one had to stop there vacation. I am glad your son enjoys it. I have tried but my back wont let me enjoy it. What is your sons handicap? Thanks for following along.

A friend from work got married in Vegas last week. Got maried by "Elvis" in a diner. Second marriage for both. They've lived together for years so they and their grown kids all went. They just decided to do something fun & different. Watched it on the web. It was both!

Okay, this is a long over due update. Our last morning we got up at 4 am to get home to return the rental car. That was the most long boring ride home. I was so sleepy. I was hoping that the next round we went would be alot better and some sleep. Well was I ever wrong.


I kept debating to myself do I fly and then rent a car? I was looking online and saw the price of airfare and almost choked! When I see it was 600 round trip I thought no way. Okay so I will stick with renting the car. I held a full size car not knowing what I would get, well DH had to stop during the middle of the day to come home and get me and drop me off to get the car. While I was waiting the lady behind got offered the biggest car available on the lot. I thought oh great now what. Now mind you I got the car for 132.00 for 5 days. The lady at the counter offered me a suv for the same price. I was in seventh heaven something even bigger.

I was so happy and finally on my way home. By the way the lady said I had to wait for it to come from the airport. Well the airport is about 5 miles or less from where I picked it up. This airport was the pot so to speak that caused an Old fogie thread. Sorry PIO it did not have the funky key. Just the standard key to the ignition. I will continue in my next post.

As I bring you this update I am sleepy as some of you may know I have insomnia. Well to back up a little bit here I asked DH if he would rather leave after he got done with work and get a head start. I was suppose to sleep most of the day so I could drive and he could relax. HaH! I woke up at 11 am and never got back to sleep. I got home with the car around 4 pm.

Well you know how nothing can go right? We have a carpet cleaning business, and sometimes people can ask for wrong things at the wrong time. We live in an apartment and we also do some of the work and it just so happend toward the end of the day one of the apartments had a flood and there were no fans to be had any where. Needless to say I was irked. Well when Dh husband dropped me off he said he was going to the bank and he would meet me at home. I said ok. Needless to say he was not here when I got home. And guess what else? I had no key to get in the door. . So here I am wondering where he is and I did not have my cell phone either.

Well for having an apartment I have a big backyard. Not an a typical thing but we have one. Well the wall is about 6 feet high. I thought well if I can get over the wall I can get in. I looked and said never mind I am not in the mood to maybe break a leg or something else. Been there done that twice, broke both of my ankles. I missed my Jr High gradution due to that and I made my dress. Oh well.

I go back around to the front and here are my two dogs looking at me as if to say why dont you come in? I looked at them and said I cant come in I dont have a key. Maybe I should have told them to set up the ladder. I should send them to obedience school. After about 20 mins DH came home and I said I thought you went to the bank. He said no he needed to get a fan. He had to drive to a house that virtually took up all the fans due to the tenant getting evicted and they turned on the tub and let the water go all over. It was in the walls. It is a 2 story home. I felt bad they had to rip out all the carpet. I know what your thinking. We do carpet work. Well we rent out fans as well for the drying of carpet. But in this case they were drying out the walls. So he had to go a fan and bring it back. It took two weeks to dry out those poor walls. That cost alot for those fans.

Well finally we started packing the car, I was feeling guilty for leaving my dogs alone for one night as our sitter was suppose to come saturday. As it turned out DH said our sitter called and was comeing that night. That made me feel better. We finally got on the road I think about 4:45. By this time with not much sleep and nothing to eat all day I was grouchy!

I made the suggestion we get through stockton and then get something to eat. Well it was about 5:30 when we ate and filled up with gas. Sorry no pics nothing special as we ate at sonic.

Okay back to my story.


Here Is A Pic Of My Babies

Imagine those eyes saying come in the house? We got headed back out on the road I was of course doing what I do best. DISING! Playing pogo, checking email and what not. We agreed to stop in Barstow to spend the night well after looking at some of these hotels online I was kinda of not happy with them. Good thing to as Dh said he was not tired and we were about an hour and a half away. So he continued on. Well we finally ended up at the hotel about 2 am. So we decided to go stay at the stratosphere again. Well no reservation not sure what to expect. We sat at the light waiting to turn and noticed this car next to us. I said to Dh, those are very two blondes in that car. We pulled in Valet and I said I will get a room while you get our stuff. He agreed. Well as I walked in and turned the corner I could not believe what I saw. A HUGE LINE! All I kept thinking about was this cant be happening at 2 in the morning. While standing in line what did I see ( YUP ) those blondes from the car standing in front of me. I was still trying to figure out how they got ahead of me. I was going to take a pic of where I was in line but decided not to with them in front of me. So I took one after the fact.


I was all the way back at the entrance of the line.

Well okay we finally got a room and then we waited for the bell hop area to bring our stuff. I am so grateful for the service as it was along way to the room and I did not feel like dragging my luggage around. It took about 30 mins before it got delivered. By this time it is 3:30 am. I tried to lay down and go to sleep and just could not do it. I was hungry after eating at 5:30 so I let DH know I was going to order from room service. It came from the same resturant ( Roxies ) . So my sandwich came about 4:30.

I should have walked down there and got it. Oh well live and learn. It was about 5 am now and at this point what was the use of trying to sleep? So I got up and took a nice hot bath in the deep bathtub. I was up and ready to go by 9 am. DH asked to sleep in another hour. Okay, well he finally got up and dressed. We checked out and now we are on our way to go see the trophys. The man kept emailing back and forth for our approval. Well I did not get a pic of them as my camera broke ( more about that later ) They were even better than the pics in the email. Me and DH were very pleased and with out a doubt we will return to use them again. Well DH wanted to do something totally different. He wanted to go see some of the homes in the area. Million dollar homes. Well I am up for it.

We saw a garage sale and I got a pair of those massaging slippers for 3 dollars and they werent used. We started noticing all the homes that are empty and we stopped and started looking. Well that is just my kind of thing to do. We saw one then left and saw another garage sale. I got a new H2O steam mop for 20 bucks. What a find I love it.

Well I am always on a mission to see if I can get behind the enclosed gates. Well today was our day they all had open houses. I couldnt take pics as they wont allow it. But there are some beautiful expensive homes in the country clubs. The price difference is shocking as well. For some of them that were well into the millions are now about 1 million or less. The housing market is so bad. It was like we were finding empty homes on every st. Well it is now about 1 pm. DH is getting hungry so we went to Earl Of Sandwich

If you have not tried EOS I do recommend them our total for lunch was about 15 dollars including drinks.

Okay I need to back up here a bit. Getting back to the golf tournament. We initially had a contract with Planet of Hollywood. Well we did not meet the requirements for enough rooms. So needless to say we canceled the contract. My next thought was where are we going to stay. Well it came to me I went online and was looking at the Desert Rose ( our time share ) lo and behold I got everyone a room for so much cheaper. The budget board would be so proud. They are getting a one bedroom suite with full kitchen, private bedroom, sofa is a bed. There is a tv in every room. Laundry facilities. Free full breakfast. Free internet. Kitchen has everything for cooking and dishes. If you want to Barbque they will turn them on for you. It has a swimming pool and jacuzzi. I will post those pics when I go back in june.

So everyone save about 90 dollars which will go toward there prize funds. They were very happy with that.


Up to speed now, so it is about 4 pm and we are to pick up our friend from the airport around 8:30 pm. My DH is trying everything to keep me awake as we dont have our room yet. This is the person who said he had paid for a room and couldnt use it. So we said we would so he didnt lose out on his money. I am so exhausted now I have been up since 11 am friday morning and it is now 4 pm on saturday. It has been 29 hours I have been awake and I am just wanting to fall over. We went to the outlet mall and were in there til about 7 pm, and then it came I told my husband to check his phone to make sure this person hasnt called. Nope not yet. How ever we did get phone calls about carpets. Its like enough already. but when he was about to hang up with that one person our friend called and said his flight was delayed until 9:30! All I kept thinking was I am so tired but I have to keep going. With no where to go and lay down ( not even the car ) it was loaded we drove around til about 9 and made our way to the airport.

We waited about 20 minutes and he finally arrived. We went back to the car and on our way to the hotel. Are you ready for this? He says drop me off at the hotel and you can go get your room. My jaw hit the floor, my DH said what? Come to find out that the reservation was for sunday night. So thankful our time share was right behind the hotel where he was. I went in there to get a room at 10 pm. Then while I was standing there it hit me I forgot to go to the bank and get the money out to pay for everyones rooms. Shoot! Now what? No bank open on sunday, so I ended up paying for it all on the credit card. After that we met back at our hotel and I was hungry all I had was EOS and my cupcake. We went to McDonalds, as soon as I got back to the room I was done I was out in 1 minute. Finally beautiful sleep after being up for 37 hours.

Sonic is kinda like the old A&W rootbeer stand. They have hot dogs, burgers, chili dogs like coney island, shakes, ice cream and things like that. Its boring and I was so hungry I inhaled. Its a wonder I didnt get heart burn.

I still have one more update to finish my computer and the internet would not finish coperating yesturday. I have pics of the greens but I am trying to decide if I go out the first day on a cart and get some better ones while everyone is playing. I would probably get lost driving all the way out there. I also got a pic of S Oneils home. The outside of it. The basket ball player cant spell his first name. I will leave a trail on bacon tour and the trip. I have a pic of a huge thing of bacon. But a little at a time to entice. I get alot of hits to look here.

It is now sunday morning and I did not plan on plan on sleeping until 8 am. Oh well now I am running behind as my plan was to get up around 6 go have my coffee and sit down and start writing some of this report.

HaH that did not go well. I did however get a good nights sleep and I certainly do not remember my DH leaving. I thought now what do I do as these guys were only going to be gone until noon . Terrific, I got up and took my shower and got most of myself ready to go. I needed to dry my hair. I need my coffee before I go any further so I went to the continental breakfast and it was crowded. I think they shut it off at 10.

As you see by my post time I am just now getting my coffee. This is what I get for staying up all night and playing games. . Sorry everyone ( you know who you are ) it sure is fun though. I got my coffee and my newspaper ( coupons ). I headed back to the room, finished drying my hair and I was surprised to find that is was only 9 am by this time.

I got around faster than I thought especially for being an OLD FOGIE! I got everything together and put it in my backpack and got my coffee and headed out the door to the get to my first destination stop. I also had a mission to accomplish as well.

Our little home is at the end of the strip across from the MGM did not know if I mentioned that or not. It is actually located right behind the Tropicana. As I was walking out the doors I thought about which way I wanted to walk.

The route I took can we say BIG MISTAKE I went the other way not realizing that it was the really long way around. At least the weather was very pleasant and so at least I was not sweating. It took me about 25 minutes to walk all the way around as if I went the other way 5 minutes. Lesson learned if you are not sure how long it will take you go with the old familiar route. I guess I burned off alot of calories. I enjoy riding the bus there at least I am not valet parking and going back and forth to get the car and then go down a little further. I finally made it to the bus stop and got my ticket for the day.

As I was buying it the bus arrived but I needed to go right across the street for my first stop. I went in to check the MGM and see if the lions were in yet. Dang no such luck. Oh well I thought continue you have a mission to get to.

So I kept walking and I saw my favorite store the M&M store. I love it but takes alot of time and I dont have time to waste as it is now 10 am and have not even got to my destination yet. If you havent been in there, there are 4 floors to it. My favorite floor? Yep the fourth floor the one with all the nascar stuff. A few years ago my Dh bought me a leather jacket with M&M's on it and the nascar. The last time I went up to the forth floor they had a new jacket done with swavarqian crystals ( sp? ) not in my budget over 3000.00 dollars. So there it sits. OH well.

On with my mission. I kept walking and the caffeine has kicked in and walking much faster. I can see my mission, but however looks are really decieving, so I decided to wait for the bus. I wasted 15 minutes two buses came and went because they were full. Okay no good must keep walking. I finally made it to my destination in about 20 minutes by this time it was alomst 11 am.

Boy that was a long walk. My destination the Belagio. I love that hotel. I was there to get pictures for our new home to be. This is for the OLD FOGIES! So with that in mind I put up pics now.
