More beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing. It does look like those first few scenes in SOM could have been filmed there![]()

That was nice that Disney gave their CM's there own pool. Was that the front of (bow) of the ship?
I think I asked you this before, but could you tell me again, where you are in Canada, compared to the United States? Those mountain pictures are just gorgeous, and I know my dh would love to go on vacation and hike like your family did. I think Faunter said come to Traverse Michigan and it would be great to know, that the area is just north or east of Michigan. My dh is a hiking nut and he loves to tourcher our kids too.
Wow! You needed a vacation after the trip to Dad's! All that hiking must have WORN YOU OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, I saw the new itineraries, they are also returning to the Med in 2011.
They have sailed the Mexican Riveria in the past so they have experience with the ports and what did and did not work, you will also get the warm tropical weather. Also since the cruise sails from LA you can tack on a few days at Disneyland to make the trip extra special.
The Alaska cruise also sounds wonderful but is sure to be very popular and probably pricey as it is a new and special itinerary. If you want to book this one make sure to book it as soon as possible (the day booking opens is best). The prices only go up and the more people book the higher the price goes. Of course Disney has not released the prices for this yet, hopefully it won't be too scary! With the Alaska cruise you are going to see some beautiful scenery but you will be sacrificing the warm weather. The pools onboard are not covered and I have not heard anything about them fitting the ship to make them so. Of course I am sure that Disney will have lots of indoor activities to make up for the lack of pools. You will also have to get a passport if you want to go on the Alaska cruise as it leaves out of Canada and you need to have a passport to drive or fly across the border.
The new ship will also be sailing in 2011 so another option you have is sailing the Caribbean onboard the new ship. It will be doing shorter itineraries (3-4 nighters) so if you want a longer cruise you could always book a back to back cruise. Lots of people do this and they make it really easy for you.
When you book you have to pay a deposit. For the longer cruises it is $250 per person. It may be more though for the Alaska and Mexico cruises as they are "special" itineraries. After you pay the deposit the rest of the balance is not due until 95 days out I think? You will get a statement in the mail telling you when the rest is due and if you book through Dreams Unlimited your vacation profile page will also tell you when it is due.
Oh thanks for the lengthy reply!! I actually started looking at everything yesterday and I think that for at least my first cruise, I'm still thinking Caribbean!! Alaska is so beautiful though! I will definitely take a cruise there one day.
And I love your idea about if I ever go on a cruise taking off in LA, stopping by Disneyland...and I was thinking maybe even all the parks in Cali like Knotts, SeaWorld, Legoland...etc...but I'm getting way ahead of myself!!
And I love the pics of your hike!! So beautiful!! I love the mountains. There's just something being there that just feels so good to the soul despite the havoc that hiking through them wrecks on the body! LOL
Hi Lessa!! I'm all caught up!! Thanks for scanning and posting the itineraries for each day!! Sorry that the rain followed you on the cruise--ugggh! Can't wait to read more!
That kids pool looks ridiculously busy, don't think I'd like that part of the cruise.
Your hiking photos are stunning and sorry about your brothers being a pain![]()
Looks like you are guys are enjoying the cruise so far-except for the rain. That was quite a hike. Views were beautiful.
I have so many future vacations already planned out in my head.
A trip to Cali visiting the national parks, San Francisco, probably stop in Monterey and visit our old haunts, Disneyland, Legoland, San Diego Zoo.
The next big Florida trip where we are going to visit WDW, Universal, Sea World and Busch Gardens.
Trip to Japan with Alek
And many more!
I am loving your trip report. You are hysterical as are your brothers. Sounds like my family when we take a trip. I have been thinking about taking a cruise for awhile but I have 3 kids plus my husband and me and we would need a family stateroom and they are a little pricey. Pre children I did cruises on RCCL Carnival, And NCL. This sofar seems like a good combo.
Evening Lessa !! I am having a hard time keeping up with my threads , between work and this cold !!I am one weary ol"lady !! Say Hi to Beth!!!!
Lessa I just don't know how you did all that hiking and called it a vacation. Way to much work for me.On the other hand I am glad you went because the pics are beautiful.
