the scariest roller coaster right here...with pics! this is too scary!

A friend's son rode it many times last summer. Sometimes it doesn't make it to the top of the hill (I guess if it's windy), it will then speed backwards back to the station! :scared1:

That rollercoaster used to be the scariest and t was the tallest in the world but not anymore. Check out the Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey website.

Looks cool!

Hey maybe they can do that with the monorail! :rotfl:

I have never ridden it but have watched it many times. It looks so scary. When it takes of it is like a rocket. Sometimes it does not make it to the top and rolls backwards pretty fast. Last summer it was broken down quite a bit.

We rode Top Thrill Dragster last summer. What a rush! By far the scariest roller coaster I've even been on (and DW and I both LOVE roller coasters). True, it doesn't always make it to the top of the hill, but most people standing in line don't know this. I was curious to see how people would react if they were watching it and saw it "fall" back down the hill not knowing that this could happen occasionally. :worried:

Its not scary at all. My son was 7 the first time he rode it. Its really nothing. Its a fun, but quick ride. Its actually kind of a "one trick pony" coaster.

There is a larger one at Six Flags Great Adventure which is bigger and faster. Its still under construction. Kingda Kin will be faster and larger than TTD when complete next month.

Maybe they can fashion Spaceship Earth into one of these coasters. It could take off, go over the top of the giant sphere and come back down. Then they wouldn't have to worry about the infrastructure inside the sphere!

Top Thrill Dragster is a great coaster, but Millenium Force is still my favorite. It's a classic out and back roller coaster with some incredible air time. :goodvibes Why can't Kings Island (in Cincinnati) take some lessons from Cedar Point and Six Flags?? :confused3

Space Mountain, and the "Beastie" are more my speed. :moped:

No touchy Spaceship Earth. I like that ride the way it is, thank you. ;)

We rode this with the family the year it opened. It was rolling backwards quite alot that week and we didn't get to ride it till the last day. When it rolls back they shut it down for a little while till they run it again. The line said three hour wait and I asked my kids what they wanted to do and they said that's the ride we came here to ride we are waiting. Well it didn't take more then a hour wait(Thank goodness since the ride is less then 2minutes I think.) That was the longest second of my life at the top of the hill it stops for a second before it makes it over the hill. I'm happy to say we went over. I hope the one at great adventure doesn't have as much trouble when it opens. They said it was the winds off lake Erie that made it roll back because if it didn't reach the speed of 120 miles per hour it would roll back. I do agree it was fun to ride but Millenium Force is a much better coaster. That first drop is unbelieveable! Cedar Point is a great park for roller coasters! :scared1:

I've never seen that coaster, but I'm just posting to encourage eveyone who LOVES roller coasters to make the time to travel to Cedar Point at some point in their lives. I love roller coasters, and I had the pleasure of living in Cleveland for several years, and what a great surprise that there was this park dedicated to having the world's best roller coasters. It's roughly half-way between Cleveland and Detroit.

It's on Lake Erie. Ohio sometimes describes its Lake Erie shoreline as "America's North Coast" (Canada is on the other side of the lake). I don't know if they still do this (it's been 6 years since I was there last), but Cedar Point used to call itself "America's Roller Coast." If you love coasters, there's no place better.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is about rolling back. I'd think the twisting 400 foot drop forward is worse.

is it just me, or does just watching that coaster actually make you nervous?!?!

They still do call themselves that. :goodvibes

I've lived in Sandusky all my life, and I've been on just about every ride there is at that park. I can tell you one thing...TTD breaks down entirely too much. the only way I will ever ride that ride is if it goes for two summers in a row without having to shut down. I will get in line for any other ride in a heartbeat, including Millenium Force, but top thrill is not for me. :earseek:
