I have a FP for the Safari at AK. I was wondering how much time the Safari takes??

Once boarded, the ride can take between 20-30 minutes.

Sometimes your truck must stop and wait for animals who have wandered too close to or into the road.
(The animals have the right-of-way, and some of them seem to take advantage of it. ;) )

It's s great ride!! I would plan on at least 60 mins from the time you arrive at the entrance to the ride. Quite a walk from there before you even board your jeep.

I would comfortably say 45 minutes with a FastPass. That includes the entrance to the FastPass line (which seems to be at times one of the most challenging ones), the slow down at the stroller parking area and then the merge with the standby line and then right after, the physically challenged "exit" to the right.

With that said, if you haven't already done the Pangani Exploration Trail, you might be sucked into doing it after the Safari as the exit leads sort of into that area but you can bypass it. Just follow the tail back to Africa and not to the trail.

OK, this is making me wonder... I have a FP+ for the 10 am FOTLK (Yes, I know I don't need it) and was planning to try to hit the Safari SB at rope drop - am I NOT going to make the 10 am FOTLK if I do that? I have a "just in case" FP+ for the Safari later in the day, but I'm trying to get out of AK by mid-afternoon to visit AoA/POP. Maybe I need to plan on a later FOTLK and move Flights of Wonder to my "Around the World" day (could probably make the 1:45 show).

Every time I think I've got this solved, I start rethinking.

If you get there around 830 for a 9am opening, you should be in the front of the crowd. High tail it to the Safari and you should have time to make it to the 10am show. I would be comfortable with this plan. There is always the chance the animals will lay in the road and ruin this plan, but it is a risk I would take.

Thanks. Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with my plan. Worst case scenario, I catch a later FOTLK show. Now I just have to keep trying to talk myself into Everest...

I was in the same boat debating Everest on our last trip and decided to go for it. I LOVE it, let the nephews talk us into riding 10 times in one day!

Wow, you must walk SLOWLY!

I figure about 10-15 minutes from gate to

Yup.

EE is a GREAT "Disney Coaster!"
It's about as smooth-running as any I've ridden (7DMC is a smoothy, too.)
EE is my favorite WDW coaster.
