Sunday 23rd July
So applying the same logic as yesterday you would have said today was a park day but you would be wrong. Today we were off to Anna Maria Island, my most favourite place in the whole wide world. If I won the lottery this is where I would live.
I had planned from the very start that we would be staying to see the sun set over the Gulf and had told the kids so they were not to start moaning that they wanted to go were bored.
This was a day that Theresa and I had been looking forward to and they were not to spoil it. Sermon over!
We arrived at lunchtime as we intended staying late (I said no moaning!!!
) and headed for The City Pier Restaurant and had our favourite Grouper sandwich while watching the dolphins swim by including an inflatable one that had blown off of the beach which was rescued by a passing fishing boat.
We browsed around some of the antique stores and had a walk along the beach. It was a bit blowy but that was good as it kept the temperature down.
The Baywatch type towers were there but unfortunately no Pamela Anderson.
We had dinner at Sandbars Restaurant out on the patio; this is renowned for its seafood, which was delicious.
There was a couple getting married on the beach right next to us and they had loads of pictures taken of them by tourists as well as the official photographer.
Theresa and the kids walked along the shore shell hunting and even found a sand dollar.
I took loads of photos of the sunset but sadly it was not a good one due to low cloud levels so I had to just make the best of it.
It was weird as in one direction the sun was setting and in the other there was a rainbow and thunder n lightning.
We got back to the resort at about 11p.m. and fell into bed very very tired.
