September Miles = 85

I completed the Hartford Marathon - hitting my goal of breaking 4 hours (3:57:16). I took some time to recover which included a week in the parks enjoying Food &Wine. I am now slowly starting my reverse taper and getting back into training for Dopey in January.

May Miles = 111

October 2025 Totals
Distance: 178.74 miles
Time: 26:01:10
Avg. Pace: 8:44

Total Miles over last 12 months: 1,496.49

My most miles since March (214.32) as I continue my return from summer surgery and ramp up for Dopey. I'm nine weeks into my training plan and doing well. Still not quite feeling as good as I did before, but I'm getting there.

I did my first “long” run since my injury today. I did 7 miles. I was hoping for between 6-8 so I’m happy with that. Things were starting to yell at me at 5.5 so I walked from there. When I was intervaling, I maintained a 13:30ish pace and overall was 14:50. I’m in a MUCH better place mentally after this run. Is it where I want to be… no. But I have a plan to move forward and keep training. Fingers crossed my body gets the memo!

October Running
178.6 miles

Did the Wineglass Half Marathon at the beginning of the month. I'll echo @Dopey 2020 comments. Very nice race, well organized, good scenic course. I'd certainly recommend it for a fall race. One last race of the year on the docket for next weekend, Pittsburgh 10 Miler.
I actually was thinking of registering for that race next fall for my first half marathon ever. It looks like a good option for me.

Pro tip for people who run races with hydration vest:
If you're putting your name on your shirt, make sure it's not covered by your vest. Either put it below the vest or find a way to make sure the vest is not in the way.

(I saw several people today whose names were partially covered by their vests ... feels like that defeats the point of having your name on your shirt)

October Summary:
87.3 miles running - low due to taking 8 days off to combat my shin splints
Replacement cardio - too much
5k race pushing my toddler in her stroller - 22:18 and third place female overall woo!
Doing better with actually getting strength training in
