The Running Thread --2025

August running:
-199.99 miles 😩 still my highest month ever
-time 37:34:10
-only 6 strength training sessions 🙈

The weather finally turned and it has definitely made a difference in my pace, so much so that I went out crazy fast on my 18 miler today and crashed and burned at mile 16. Only 5 weeks until my race, still hanging in there with the training!

August- 119 miles

Kinda falling apart on the strength training a bit towards the end, but I am just out of energy and trying to take the extra rest. I am now into the taper which I am going to try to do properly for once.

I have stopped cutting and tracking calories to make sure I am fueled properly and will try for at least one strength session this week and next.

I haven’t had a day off since at least July 14, but I finally get one this coming Sunday, so yay, I’ve only got 6 miles to do that day, then I can futz with my car

my average pace belies how bogged down i've been feeling. my outdoor runs have been incredibly slow, like barely over a walk - struggling to maintain a 10:00 pace. i've had to stop several times in the middle of treadmill runs. just tired. not sure what's going on and i'm very frustrated.

10k trail race where I took 1st in my age group

Pretty good month! I'm on my last build week of my half marathon training, then its 2 weeks of taper, race, 1 week recover, 2 weeks reverse taper and marathon training block starts October 12th. As insane as this makes me feel to say, Dopey has become a series of training runs while I focus on my A race on Feb 14th for postpartum BQ attempt #3. Third times the charm?

Trying to get back to half marathon shape, it's been a slow process.

my average pace belies how bogged down i've been feeling. my outdoor runs have been incredibly slow, like barely over a walk - struggling to maintain a 10:00 pace. i've had to stop several times in the middle of treadmill runs. just tired. not sure what's going on and i'm very frustrated.
Girl, same! I feel extra tired lately and every run feels like garbage. I'm having some bloodwork done later this week, maybe that will provide some answers. We are finally getting a break from heat & humidity, so hoping that helps.

AND...I turned the BIG 5-0 on August 10th...not sure how i feel about that.

Happy Birthday! And welcome to the new age group! I'd love to say the competition slows down once you get to 50-54 AG, but not enough for me to benefit. We are all still getting out there so let's give ourselves a hand.

Much better running this month with a little cooler temps. I am now mentally prepping for September's long runs and eventual taper ahead of the Hartford Marathon in mid October. Then I will take some time off and reverse taper / ramp back up for Dopey 2026!!

I’m super stoked you guys—I just found out I get free access to the little fitness center in my office building, and it even has lockers and showers!

The treadmills are gigantic compared to the pathetic no-name folding one I have at home. There’s also a bike, rower, weight machine, and free weights.
