Does anyone keep a running journal?
I log miles on a spreadsheet, but also when I started my training cycle for my December marathon I started keeping notes on each training run (what I ate, weather, etc). But, after about 2 weeks I got lazy and stopped doing it. About 2 months ago, I went back and looked at those notes and was pleasantly surprised how good the info was. So, I've actually gotten back into it and find it really valuable. I'm generally logging tiny stuff, like little mental games that may have helped during a run, or I'm seeing a slight correlation in my paces related to certain temps/humidity. And, here's the bonus...because I hand write it all I've seen quite an improvement in my penmanship.
