I may be out there for this. I am waitlisted for Peak to Creak, if that comes through it will be my fall marathon, otherwise OBX is my second choiceSaturday, November 12th --- Outer Banks 8k (using as an easy run warmup for marathon...no goal)
Sunday, November 13th -------Outer Banks Marathon (sooooooooo reluctant to provide an actual goal but let's go with 4:10)
Ran 13.1 this morning, then came home to watch the end of the Olympic marathon. Now, I was running at an easy pace, but it is still a little disheartening to see these guys finish a full in less time that I finished my half today.
Meb slipped right at the finish line and the spectators gasped (worried that he might have injured himself, I think). He was amazing. He smiled, knocked out a few pushups, then rose and crossed the finish line.![]()
Meb is a class act. Was really hard to see him struggling with stomach issues.
Way to go Mike@CheapRunnerMike with an overall time of 10:40:48. Awesome job!! Beat your goal time by 19 minutes. Looking forward to the recap.

QOTD: What was your favorite moment from the 2016 Olympics? Did you get to watch the marathon (mens/womens)?
ATTQOD. I really enjoyed the cat and mouse that went on in the womens olympic tri during the run portion. I watched the first part of the marathon, until I went to church. The announcer saying "they aren't really going that fast" when they finished their first 2 miles in a sub 5mm pace and watching people trying to keep up with the runners for just a small portion of time both made me chuckle.
ATYQOTD: Race goal near term. Break 3:30 for the Marathon. Longer term BQ. Distance goal for this year run more than 2000 miles this calendar year.
