Morning all!
I'm just popping in real quick to say hello! I'll be heading out shortly to meet up with my mom to head up to the 5K. We'll be walking together with her dog, a friend of hers and her dog, and my brother and SIL-to-be. My SIL-to-be is the one who's organized the 5K, and it benefits her program directly, so I'm extra proud to be taking part. My mother also works for the same program, so it's a family affair!
I only plan on walking the course and, with the dogs, it'll probably be an easy pace. The trail is in a local park and runs around a small zoo. I don't anticipate not being able to finish, but I figure I'll be a little sore later on and tomorrow since I haven't been walking much lately. The actual training program starts Monday, but more on that later. I'm thinking of today as the "kick-off' to this adventure.
I kind of wish I'd been on the ball and had a tee that said something like "In Training for my first Disney 1/2 Marathon" but I can't be crying over spilled milk. Next time.
I'm stopping at the craft store on the way home for supplies to jazz up my September trip binder and my 1/2 Marathon training/trip binder. I'll be working on those today. This afternoon I should be able to post an update about all the changed plans and what's going to happen around these parts in the next 9 months (and no, it doesn't include my having any babies - I leave that to TK and Pollito).
Tomorrow, or maybe even later tonight, if the binder is finished, I'll posts pics of that and some other training tools I have lined up and will give you a synopsis of what my actual training plan looks like.
I'm very excited and a little bit nervous about all this.
