OK, I admit it. I am an Anglophile. I loved watching Charles and Diana's wedding. So I will be recording William and Katherine's wedding. My dvr will record 2 different channels so I will be recording it on 2 different channels. Of course 1 of them will be BBC America, now I have to decide on the other one. CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC??? Another 1? Help me decide.

I'm still debating on whether or not I want to watch it in full.

Ack! I love you! I too am an Angliophile. I'm so pathetic that I and a few girlfriends are having a royal wedding party at 4am in our pajamas and dime store tiaras. We are having mimosas, scones, wedding cake cupcakes, Hobnobs, and other British fare. Yep, we are silly!

I'm an Italophile, not an Anglophile, so I'm not all that interested in the Royal Wedding. I'm actually more interested in the Italian Monarchy, which dissolved in the 20th Century, but I digress. :lmao:

Anyway, just an observation: I remember when Prince William used to look like his mother (a good thing) but as he gets older I notice he's starting to look like his father (a very bad thing) :rotfl:

I just set the DVR for BBC AMerica and NBC! Recording some other programming during the week as well! Regis and Kelly is going to have a recap right after the wedding on Friday! Looks kind of interesting!

I am SOOOO excited for this! I was up at 4am for Charles and Diana's wedding and I am sooo ready for this wedding on Friday! Diana would be proud of her son! I'm very impressed with him and Kate as well!

My DSIL and I will be watching it together. I bought some crumpets today and will probably make something else! I have lots of tea as we don't drink coffee in this house! Went to the local British imports store today for Easter candy. They didn't have any Royal Wedding stuff which I was bummed about! I have a mug from Charles and Diana's wedding and would love a similar one so I will have to look around!

Cheerio!!!!

My sister and I have a pajama date, hats not so optional, to watch...took the day off work even to facilitate naps later in the day. We will be watching Canadian coverage starting at 3 a.m. Tracey Ullman is a correspondent for one of our networks, CTV, and the other network is our national broadcaster, the CBC. Can't wait - this is going to be quite the event!

I wish I lived closer to Nashville so I could come to the breakfast party! My DH thinks I am crazy, but I can't wait to get up early Friday for this wedding. I remember Charles and Diana's wedding, it was also very early in the day (here in the US).

ohhh that's a hard one.

i'm sure all the feeds be it american, canadian or british will be the same - it'll be who's doing the talking.

you'll have to find out who's doing it on each channel and decide who you like better.

i am NOT looking forward to waking up even before my dh gets up to go to work but i will.

i was up with the birds for charles and diana, andrew and sarah and i'll be getting up with dd for william and kate.

we're making strawberry jam tomorrow and will be buying scones thursday for breakfast.

i found out how to make devonshire cream that i will be testing out tomorrow too :)

if we cant' be there and can't be at the gf for afternoon tea then i'll do it myself ;)

i'll prob record bbc and watch ctv or globle.

globle starts at 3 and everyone else at 4

dh gets up at 4 to go to work so i'm going to have to ask him to make sure i'm up LOL

You are so right. I just have to decide who I want to listen to. Right now CBS is in the lead. They are our standard national news/morning show. But I am also thinking CNN. Still debating.

LOL CNN commercial just came on the TV.

Unfortunately, a vacation day is not an option. I have used too many already this year. I have a week at Disney to save days for. Some podcast I listen too is sponsoring a party at some other park. Anyone hear about that? :rotfl:

Anyway, the days leading up to the wedding will decide if I wake up early to watch live, or go for the recorded stuff when I get home from work.

I'm going to be out of town, so I'm debating about getting up at 4am to watch, I probably won't. I will be setting my DVR though, definitely on CNN because I love Anderson Cooper. Not sure if I will tape any other station, I hadn't really thought of that. CNN is having a special on this Saturday or Sunday at 9pm called "The Women Who Would be Queen" about Diana and Kate. Sorry, I can't remember if it's Saturday or Sunday and I'm not at home to check.

It's on Sunday at 8 on CNN

Add me to the list of crazy American's that will be watching...though at a few hour delay thanks to my dvr as sleep is to rare in my house with a 2 year old and a 4 month old. Even watched the lifetime movie William & Kate as a warm up. Thought it was pretty good. Total chick flick. Did anyone else watch?

I will obviously be watching it! I get a free day off work for the occasion!

The main coverage here will be by the BBC- so I am guessing BBC America will have the same or similar coverage. Other channels are showing some too, but the BBC are showing the whole event.

I will be up for 10am eating something suitably British, probably with a cup of tea! :goodvibes

Either one is better than looking like his step :banana:mom.

Hey Derby,

My wife watched some of it while I was trying to get some work done... I caught a few minutes of it but I thought it didn't have much of an ending. What did you think?

Good luck on getting some sleep!!

Im so relieved i dont have to get up at 4am to watch it :)

Its lovely to see other countries getting so excited about it! Some Brits can be really down about it but im really looking forward to watching it. I was only a baby for the other Royal Weddings so this will be my first experience. We have a couple of street parties in my area so it should be a lovely day.

I can't wait to watch the wedding. I can remember staying with my grandma and getting up to watch Charles and Diana. I probably will dvr it too. I have to be a work at 9:30am that day so I should be able to see most of it before I leave. I asked my dd17 if see was going to get up early to watch it with me and she just looked at me like I was crazy!

Hello fellow Hertfordshireian, is that a word?

I like the fact we can watch it at a leisurely time too, much better for getting the tea and cake out! :goodvibes
