The drop is not too bad; in fact I barely notice it. By the way, DisneyHugeFan, I'm just curious as to what age you are.

Any chance you are thinking about the "Pirates" ride in DisneyLand? I haven't been there, but read at the DIS it has a bigger drop. The one in Orlando is minimal, probably 5 feet or so.

ummm, well, The drop is enough to give a small thrill but, it is fairly small. I also heard that the DL drop is much more noticable.

If you thought that was bad, then you shouldn't go on Splash Moutain. It just must be you. I thought of it as just a small drop.

Mind you, my sarcasm radar is off at this time of day...but I ALWAYS miss the drop! I didn't even know there was one until I heard that they made it bigger in the refurb! I must be too busy singing!

Ok, you're not crazy and it's not just you! For such a small, slow moving ride...the drop IS kind of big...in comparison. Because the rest of the ride is so mellow, the drop seems like quite an exaggeration. I thought that the last few times I went, the drop was "bigger" than I had remembered it in previous years...(which is surprising, because usually things get smaller with age, not larger)

I went on loads of drop rides like splash mountain etc and that one on POTC ride was nothing compared to that lol....mmm sorry..i think it might be just you

I thoughti t was fairly big, but then again I wasn't expecting it! Comparable to Maelstrom I think, so not really that big, but enough of a thrill for younger kids. I'll be holding my DD1 tight though all the same...

I have to say that I would like it better with no drop, but I like the rest of the ride way too much to let the drop not let me go on the ride.
