If anyone can give us any info on this tour it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I did the Red Carpet tour on Friday 9/26. It's $25 per person. You meet outside of Disneyland at 9:30, you need a park hopper pass in addition to the tour ticket.

You'll get a black lanyard (nothing fancy) with two identical pins (one to keep and one to trade). The tour starts at Disneyland, the guide gives you information about Walt Disney's apartment over the fire station, the only religious symbol in the park, where the park was dedicated and other neat facts. You go through Adventure land to the PoC and ride that ride. After the ride, more info on New Orleans Square - Blue Bayou, Club 33, Walt and Roy's apartment and Fantasmic. On to the train station, you board the train for Tomorrowland (we got off at Fantasy land and walked to Tommorow land because the Tommorowland station was closed). Info about Tommorowland, and board the monorail to Down Town Disney.

At DTD, more info about the DL hotel, walk to the Marceline's Confection for some samples and brief shopping opportunity. Walk to the Grand Californian, through the lobby and to the California Adventure entry from the GC. Talk about the Paradise Pier hotel then we walked back to the paradise pier area and along the wharf. We toured the Mission tortilla factory, then to the front of the park. Our guide (Oscar) gave us Fast Passes to Winnie the Pooh at DL (6PM-7PM time) and Soarin' over California (2PM-3PM). We went to the Hyperion theater and he put us in the center (best) seats for the 12:45 Alladin show. The tour ends there, the show is 45 minutes long so you get out at 1:30.

If you have the time, I recommend it. It's fun and you'll learn a lot about the parks. We had a large group (14 people). For smaller groups you may get to ride other rides or go to other areas.

I highly recommend the balcony seating for Fantasmic - it's the best!

Thanks for the info. Since we have been to WDW do you still think it is worth it? It'll be our first time to DL. Thanks

The highlight of our trip was watching Fantasmic from the balcony of the apartment Walt Disney designed for himself. Fantasmic at DL is a real zoo. Picture the crowds at Epcot for Illuminations, but with a lagoon a third of the size. I don't think I would have stayed to watch the show without the balcony. The dessert buffet was awesome too. Cheesecake, choclate cake, macaroons, lemon jelly roll, something I didn't recognize, fruit kabobs, choclate sauce, and Mickey waffles. They also had cheese and crackers. They served virgin mint juleps, sodas or coffee to drink. There were 15 of us being waited on by 3 CMs. It was cool!

That said, we also enjoyed the tour. Would I do it again - no. Been there done that - from talking to the guide it's the same route each time. And if I had known how long it really was (they tell you 9:30 to 12:30, but not that you are just seated to watch the Aladdin show at 12:30) I might have reconsidered. It's a good deal - the two pins alone are worth at least $13 ($6.50 each). Some of the pins were more expensive (the Cinderella castle with doors). The seats for Aladdin are the best in the house. If I was going during a busy time of year the access to PoC and the two fast passes would be a great thing. The crowds were very light while we were there. I would not recommend it for small kids. There was a young girl with us (maybe 7-8) and she started getting antsy. Teenagers might also get bored unless they were Disney freaks.

So my report is that it's a good deal if you have the time and are interested in the Disney History - why the bricks are red, etc. There is a lot of walking, not a lot of rides. If you are short on time, you might be disappointed in missing "Small World", the train ride through the "Grand Canyon and Dinosaur world", the Matterhorn, etc.

This tour sounds a bit like Walt's Tour, but I think I would have liked this one more, especially since you get the pins & the seating for Aladdin.

Still gotta do the Fantasmic balcony seating, though. I'm looking forward to that some day. :)
