Random epiphany I felt appropriate to share here...

In about 10 days we'll be going on the Wonder for a 7 night Alaska cruise. This will be the 4th Disney Cruise (4th cruise ever) for me DH and DD10. Our other 3 cruises were on the Magic -- 2 in the Med and 1 around Norway.

When I was looking at the Navigators someone posted from a recent Alaska sailing, it all looked pretty familiar/similar to what we've experienced on the Magic, except for the TOY STORY show. When I saw that, I gasped! I realized THAT SHOW is the reason we sail Disney in the first place. My daughter -- then 4 years old, was watching Disney Channel and as most of you probably know, in between the shows, instead of commercials, they have these interstitials / short pieces about Disney products, theme parks and cruises.

I remember my daughter called out to me from the living room, "Mommy, can we go see this?!!" I came in and on TV was a piece about the new Toy Story show on board one of the cruise ships. I've always loved Disney and we live in LA so we go to the parks all the time... but I don't think I gave much thought to the fact that Disney had cruise ships. Soon after this Toy Story show moment, I started researching and we booked our first cruise. Toy Story was never a show on the Magic (at least not when/where we sailed) so I kind of forgot about it. But to click on the Navigator and see it there, loud and proud, I realized WOW -- we're finally going to see the show that basically transformed our vacation/travel lives for the past 6 years!

And funny - when I told my daughter this morning that, "hey we'll finally see that Toy Story show!" She had NO MEMORY of the Disney Channel piece! LOL!!!!! She was like, "Mom, I was FOUR. You let a FOUR YEAR OLD decide where you'd go on vacation?" hahahahaha! Yes, yes we did.

And you timed it about right. Toy Story is going away. Being replaced by Frozen show, most likely. After the major dry dock.

Oh, so much fun! My DN (4) provided the perfect excuse for me to regress and see characters, enjoy shows, play in the splash area...basically regress.
DD was 10 on our AK cruise and she absolutely loved it. Enjoy!

Don't get your hopes up too much about the show. I personally did not enjoy it very much and I have heard a lot of comments from people who did not like it very much either. Of course it still has some fans and hopefully you will end up loving it. :goodvibes

I agree with you 100 percent. I'm glad they are getting rid of toy story. That show sucked IMO. Hope the little girls likes it.

I agree. But, I also think that everyone should see all the shows available on any given cruise, so that they can make their own decision about whether it's something they like or not.
