The real Melbourne DISmeet Fri 7th October 2016

All looks very yum. DD is heading down to Melb for a conference in July and staying with a girlfriend so has noted this as a place to check out. She also informs me Brissie has a branch of the Mexican place recently opened so have to rustle up a friend for a visit...or try and stir up the slack Brissie disers for a meet city-side.

Actually I have thought of the possibility of a Lion King DisMeet :thumbsup2 We're always very welcoming of visitors (you too Caroline!) :goodvibes

Looks like Feb 2015 ( I did say at our Mar13 MEL Dismeet that we would be back in 2 years time, fingers crossed)

So thanks to the lovely photo of the Melbourne DisMeet i realised that FireFlyFi and i have been catching the same train together nearly every morning for what is probably years - today i was able to say hi, and hopefully not completely freak her out ;)

Looking forward to more Disney talk in the future - and still completely mind-blown by how small a world it is that we live in :thumbsup2

I always wondered if any of us would find out we are among fellow DISers in our everyday lives :goodvibes Now you just have to meet the rest of us :thumbsup2

It was great to meet you this morning - what a bizarre and hilarious experience! :lmao: I would mention something about worlds being small, but we don't want THAT song stuck in our head now do we? hehehe

I have gotten so used to seeing you on the platform in the morning, that I have actually noticed when you've been missing for extended periods, and wondered 'she must be on holidays'...now I know! ;)

Now we know just how geographically close we are, PM me if you want a mini out-of-town Melbourne DISmeet :)

So funny! :goodvibes

I usually watch the Dis Podcast on my ipad on the train, and i have often wondered if anyone sees it and recognises what i'm watching!

Glad to know i have a Dis friend so close, and when i get back from my trip i would love to catch up and chat about Disney - or have a whinge about the public transport system :thumbsup2

Oh.....let's go there.

It's a small world afterall
It's a small world afterall
It's a small world afterall
It's a small, small world.

Loved the DISmeet wrap up PiO. Photos were stunning as always. :goodvibes

Remind me again when Melbourne is getting The Lion King? Maybe I should tie my Dismeet in with that :)

What do you get when you have 2 Kiwis & 1 Aussie on a DISboard thread? A potential Lion King DISmeet in Melbourne! :rotfl2:
Add in the 6 regular Melbourne DISmeet crew and we'll have a party goin' on :banana::banana: FYI... The Lion King comes back to Melbourne in February 2015. Dates and tickets have yet to be released.

Looking forward to catching up again Caroline

It truly is a you know what.

When we went to Cacao Lab for dessert, the man behind the counter commented on what a great group we were and wanted to know how we knew each other. After conferring with the rest of the group, we decided to come clean & tell him that we met through an internet chat room (I always think of seedy dating sites when I hear the term chat room :confused3), where we share our love for Disney holidays. He then went on to tell me about his time at WDW. Maybe there's just a little bit of Disney in all of us.

I just had a look at your trip dates and it seems like you'll still be away for our next DISmeet on Friday 11th July. No doubt your new train buddy will fill you in on all the goss. Stay tuned for an August date. :surfweb:

Hi Minnie Mum, I see you are off to WDW in a few months :banana::banana: . We have fingers crossed for our first visit in Jan15. Any tips and advice welcome :)

Would love to get over to MEL to see you again. And also the Lion King ( it had finished it's long run in LV by the time we visited last year). It's definitely a juggling act of finances and leave though, so it may all be wishful thinking.

It was a funny conversation wasn't it?

"Are you part of a club or something?"

"Yes. The Mickey Mouse Club."

(Lots of laughter)

"No. Really."
"We met on a chatroom forum dedicated to all things Mickey Mouse."

(Lots more laughter)

It sounds like a great plan to me. I'm seriously considering it. :)

It's great to hear from you Caroline. Yes we're off to WDW again with NYC & Washington DC thrown in as well. 72 Days and counting!

WDW in Jan 15? That's sooo close. Congratulations! Happy to help/give advice in any way I can. Although I'm sure your pumpkin friends have given you plenty of great advice. Say hello to them me.

Where there's a will, there's a way. Melbourne here you come!

Still makes me smile thinking about it.

Whilst I'm keen to see the Lion King, the show I don't want to miss is "When Wanderlust met her long lost twin Zanzibar".
