We called and and got a hold of CRO and asked what ALK Savana view for Sept 18 to Sept 25, 2004 would be and I was told with my AAA discount and tax included, $260.63 a night or $1824.41 for the entire 7 days.

Is the price really worth it. Is this what it usually costs to stay at ALK during value season?

We would love to stay there, but not so up to paying $260.63 a night.

Well, according to the rack rates (you can find them here: http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2004.html), you are in value season and the rate for a Savannah View room is $275 w/o tax, or $306.63 with tax. According to your numbers, your rate represents a 15% discount.

You could try the Standard View room, which has a rack rate of $221.89 w/ taxes. Applying the discount you got, you would pay about $188.60 per night with taxes on a Standard View, which would be about $70-plus dollars less per night.

I don't know what season I'm going to be in...
but I'm going to be at AKL concierge from 12/20/03-12/24/03
and I got an AP rate of $277 a nite.
Are you in the concierge? If not, that does seem pretty high!!

I agree that rate sounds right with a AAA discount of 15%. We are staying concierge with no discount at 471.75 a night in November. I believe the AP discount is about 40% and AAA varies depending on resort and season.

If you put your dates into the reservation system at disneyworld.com, the cost without discount is $306.64 a night with tax, so you were quoted a 15% discount off rack rate.

Yes - we are paying 260 a night in Jan. (also value season) with the AAA discount (tax included). Of course, I'm hoping for one of the e-mails or postcards that would knock it down to 109 a night! Oh well - I'm sure I won't get one!

Is that rate with or without tax? Are you sure it starts on 12/20? According to your dates, that would be Holiday season. But the AP discount is up to 40%, which would mean that you got a 40% discount from Value season rates.

No matter what date it is, $277 is quite a good rate for AKL concierge. :)

MKfan...
I think I got that rate because of my stay STARTS in
a different season...it just happened that way, but
I had read somewhere that they base the rate from
date that you arrive. As it turned out, we will arrive
12/16 and stay at Poly concierge($317.78 a nite w/tax)
for 4 nites and then transfer to AKL concierge($277.64 w/tax)
for 4 more nites. The reservationist was extremely helpful
and went totally overboard looking for me a great rate!
I wish I could get her everytime...which reminds me..
I got her name so that I could send her boss an email
and tell him how terrific she was!
I can't wait to go!!

If your rate is for a reg savannah view room it is right if you don't have an AP discount. Watch the internet and if AP discounts come out, call and change your room immediately and then go get an AP- it will be money ahead. I am paying 159 for AP savannah view this Dec. Only 1 person in your party has to get it to qualify. Sometimes other discount codes come out, but they tend to be scarce these days,
