Good point, good point. I guess I'm just used to them not being quite thaaat stupid and teenagers being able to learn from them instead of clinging to the idea that the guy who is obviously cheating on you and wants you dead cares even a little bit about you. Possibly. The one around the Lion King, however, is the claims that they stole the plot and character designs from a Japanese animated film called "Kimba: The White Lion"

Now, if anyone has ever watched a Pokemon VHS (I can't have been the only one) at the end there was a trailer for Kimba. I have to say, it does seem awfully similar. The Scar characters (IIRC) are nearly identical.

My dad's seen that movie and I saw stuff about it, but I don't think its anything like the Lion King.
