It's a tv show about a mystery writer who shadows/works with a NYC cop on murder cases.

They met because a serial killer started copying murders out of his books.
After he helped her catch the killer he decided he wanted to make her the leading lady of his new book series, and since the mayor is a huge fan she had to let him shadow her.
It's very funny, I own season one I like it so much. XD
