I don't know the exact reason, but Pedro Martinez- RS's pitcher, threw Don Zimmer [Yankees bench coach- 72 years old at the time]

The RS were the "Bad guys who hurt poor old men" for a loooooong time.

I do believe, Zimmer went over to talk to Martinez, something happened, and next thing I know a 72 year old man is on the ground.
