The Question of Which Compact Camera to Buy

Dpreview.com has just posted its recommendation of the top five compact cameras to purchase. I have just glossed over it, but it appears to give a starting point for those overwhelmed folks looking for a compact camera.

They usually have pretty unbiased reviews that give you a really good idea of what's worth getting over there. And that Canon G15 looks really tempting for my daughter....

I bough the G10 and it was much bigger than our normal P&S. The picture quanity went way down that year.

The Canon S95/S100/S110 are similar and much smaller. The SONY RX100 is of course better.

I would be inclined to look at the Panasonic LX5/LX7. if the SONY RX100 or Canon S95/S100/S110 are not suitable. The LX5 can be had for $250.00 and is smaller than the G15.

Costco has the Olympus EPL-2 on sale for $300.00. With smallish size and ICL.
