The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that Disney resorts have their own smell.

Sorry you didn't get to enjoy Earl of Sandwich...in my experience that is one of the fastest moving lines in all of WDW.

I'm looking forward to hearing about Tuesday's adventures!

I LOVE the hammock picture - even if it did take 15 minutes to get it. I also love the cabana you got to stay at. Looks like CSR is a very cool place.

With his money, he bought a pirate sword (in his eyes, no trip to Disney is complete without a weapon purchase),

:lmao: I so hear that. We had to talk Joey out of purchasing a rifle, he already had a sword.

The original plan was to get sandwiches from the Earl of Sandwich, but when we walked in the line was HUGE! Like Splash Mountain in the middle of the day long :scared1: !!! We nixed that idea and picked up sandwiches from Cafe Rix on the way back to the room.

Earl of Sandwich is yummy, but I understand not wanting to wait in a huge line.

I think we're all so lucky to share at WDW TR within a PTR......

I'm sharing your excitement.

Disney resorts do have their own smell.

First day at WDW is always magical.

I'm gonna have to try pool relaxing the first day........

DTD..was it crowded when you went?

I don't know what it is, but it does smell completely different!

If I had been on my own, I probably would have waited, but the kids are notorious whiners when it comes to standing in line.

My goal is to start Tuesday today! That sounds like something from Alice in Wonderland, doesn't it? :rotfl:

It was worth all the drama beforehand!

Connor has a whole arsenal from WDW -- dating all the way back to 2004 and plastic Japanese swords. :thumbsup2

My favorite story is about the rifle he got last summer which he then swung in the hotel room and accidentally scapled off Chelsea's fake hair from BBB. :lmao:

One day I will get to try it...

Thanks! :goodvibes TRs are a good way to get a Disney fix! :thumbsup2

Disney resorts do have their own smell.

I wish I could buy some for my house!!!

First day at WDW is always magical.

I was exhausted from getting only four hours of sleep and still enjoyed every moment!

I'm gonna have to try pool relaxing the first day........

We always take our folder of Disney info., get drinks, and just stretch out...

DTD..was it crowded when you went?

No more than I expected...it wasn't crazy busy, but there were a lot of people there -- it was probably more crowded than MK or TL when we went to those places.

Oh my goodness! CSR looks beautiful. Could use a few more trees, though.

:lovestruc Love that fountain in the lobby. That's one of my favorite things at French Quarter.

Your kids are too cute! I totally understand the sand thing. We had a huge "discussion" about who was gonna sit in the front seat of the car for our five minute ride to the beauty parlor!! ( yeah, you grew up in the south. I know you know what the beauty parlor is.:rotfl: )

Looking forward to more!

That was the only thing I could think to complain about -- CSR could definitely use more trees and shade!

And the pool and the beignets and the landscaping...:lovestruc I can't wait to be back at POFQ soon!

Oh, yeah, I know what the beauty parlor is...:rotfl:

I am so not looking forward to those "discussions" about the front seat of the car -- thank goodness I have a few more years.

Looking forward to more!

Next up is your place: the Polynesian! :thumbsup2

Ohhh, I like that! My place!! :rotfl:

I can't wait to see what you thought about it. I tried to talk the fam into Kona for one of our "off" days in June, but we are doing Boma (which isn't really sooooo bad.:lmao: )

Okay, I am totally interrupting my own mini-TR to freak about something I found out this morning. Le Cellier has changed their menu! :scared1: I found out the news on the restaurant board, and someone who is currently at WDW went and photographed the menu!

All the things we planned on ordering are gone. Gone, gone, gone! What remains does not sound appetizing to us!

Which now leaves us with a dilemma -- we aren't keeping the ADR and now must find a new restaurant for Wednesday night. Luckily, that is a pretty flexible day -- we can go to just about any park.

I think I have narrowed down our choices:

Restaurant Marrakesh (Charles is okay with it now)
50's Prime Time (again Charles is okay with it also)
Kona Cafe (we could take the monorail to Epcot afterwards)
Cape May Cafe (how long a walk is it from Epcot?)

Any others that I have missed that are good? Thoughts? Advice?

Are you staying at POFQ in June?

As of now, we are at Pop Century. But we are hoping and praying that a good AP rate will come out and we can move up to a moderate. I'd love POFQ, but it would be cool to try someplace new.

On a happy note, Chuck gave me the go ahead and we added an extra day to the front of our trip. Now as soon as the children get out of school, we are on the road!!! Two months from today!!!!

That's awesome that you are adding another day to your trip!!!

I'll hope that you get a great AP rate and can come hang out at the Quarter with us! :thumbsup2

That would be so cool!!

Sorry to hear about Le Cellier. Chuck and I have it on our list for our December Just us trip! We'll probably still give it a go.

To weigh in on your options, We have had two good visits and one very bad visit to 50's Primetime, haven't tried the others. Cape May is not far at all from Epcot. It's a nice walk and a beautiful spot. I was toying around with that one for December as well.

Thanks for the heads up about LeCellier...I had been going back and forth with it for our October plans...we will not be going now. It would cost us a minimum of $90 for 2 entrees, 2 sodas and 2 desserts...that does not include tax or tip. We'll be finding a restaurant in Orlando for our steaks.

Wouldn't it though??? ::yes::

I am definitely leaning towards Cape May Cafe now -- I hope they have a time that works for us.

There are lots of mushrooms on the menu now which is one of our least favorite things. The mousse is gone too :(.

Hiya :)
Glad you liked CSR, and all and got what you wanted.

I saw that you posted on the Le Cellier menu thread. Pretty dissapointing to see it missing so many beloved things. We're eating at Coral Reef and Les Chefs de France, anyways so it doesn't change anything here.

I vote Cape May- being on the boardwalk is just fun.

Hmm I'd say Cape May Cafe or 50's PT.:surfweb:

I think I have it narrowed down to Cape May Cafe or Kona Cafe. I just have to decide between the two now. AGGHHH!!!
